It's a "family" hotel, located some 10-15 min walk from the center of Waterloo. Very quiet neighborhood. Friendly staff at the hotel. The beds and sheets could be in a bit better condition, also the floor. Bathroom is OK. Breakfast is fine, standard one for small hotel.

This small hotel is located in a residential neighborhood about a half-mile from the village of Waterloo. Many restaurants are within walking distance. The bar and breakfast area is attractive. The rooms are somewhat spartan (reminiscent of a college dormitory room), but are clean and have all of the necessities. Because there are not many hotel choices in Waterloo, this... More

From my experience with 3 star hotels in other countries this hotel seems overrated, but is okay for a short stay. We stayed for a weekend in June. Rooms small and functional, bathroom was not properly cleaned and contained still the odours of our predecessor. Management seems a little overcharged - we got quoted a lower twin bed rate by... My husband and I stayed two nights in room 205, one of the large Romantic rooms. The room is good sized, with a large desk, minibar, and table with two chairs. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is large and well-equipped. The biggest problem with the room is a lack of lighting -- there are many small lights but... More

Le Joli Bois is in a residential area between the old Charleroi-Brussels road and the modern motorway, about half way between the centre of Waterloo and the battlefield area. The rooms are spacious if quirky, but clean and comfortable, and the service is friendly. The breakfast is better than just average, and the coffee is good (which is more than... More

We booked at this hotel as it appeared from their web site that they were very close to the Waterloo battlefield. This was not so! It was at least a 45 minute walk. The Hotel is really quite isolated from everything. We took the bus from Brain railway station as the driver said that he went to Jol Bois. He... More

This is a very nice hotel in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Clean rooms, quiet surroundings, nice backyard with tables. The breakfast buffet was tasty. Very nice people, very helpful. If you bring your guitar, Bruno loves the blues.

The small friendly hotel of Le Joli-Bois, Rue Sainte Anne Waterloo is a member of the Logis of Belgium scheme and a good overnight. Fresh, modern rooms, large private parking and a quiet suburban location. The only meal provided is breakfast. The battlefield is a couple of miles away. And Waterloo itself was much larger than we expected - a... More
