Typically, we are a party of 10 male adults and we visit this hotel every june to play golf at the various wonderful golf courses that are all located within 1/2 hour from the hotel. We have been doing this trip for at least 12 years and there has never been any problem with the hotel organising all of our... More

We had three nights at the busiest tine of their year the 200th anniversary of Waterloo. There were thousands of people in Waterloo and the hotel was full but the hotel was very professional with no glitches apparent to any guests. The room was comfortable and large with an excellent bathroom. The breakfast was good both with hot and cold... More

I stayed at this hotel after I saw Waterloo Battlefield. The hotel room was somewhat spacious but dark. The internet connection did not work either. The hotel has free parking in a parking lot next to the hotel. The hotel is about a 10-15 drive from the Waterloo Battlefield. There were plenty of options for breakfast.

This was not our first stay at this hotel we stayed here as it was very convenient for the battle field celebrations. This time I found the room we had to be a bit tired and in need of some updating! However as always the staff were very friendly and efficient. The bar was comfortable and an enjoyable place to... More

Stayed one night in June to visit the Waterloo Battlefields. Have been to Waterloo before and I have stayed at other Martin's Hotels but never combining the two. It really is a unique reuse of a building and they have tastefully redone a sugar factory into a trendy hotel / restaurant. I was especially impressed by the attention to detail... More

We stopped here for two nights to visit the town in which I'd lived about 30 years ago. The hotel used to be a sugar factory, thus the name of their restaurant-La Sucarie. Our room was lovely and large with even a kitchenette. The view was nothing to write home about, but it was very quiet. They also had free... More

I was excited to stay here for a trip of a lifetime to the Waterloo battlefield, but my expectations were ruined upon arrival. To sum it up, this is hardly a “grand hotel,” as its name implies. The only thing separating it from a 2 ½-star, no-frills hotel is the restaurant. This is anything but a luxury hotel — most... More

Got to the hotel entrance and my kind taxi driver said how are you getting in ! I assured him there must be another entrance , yes there was over my pet hate cobble stones, round trip of 50m from the front entrance , no sign posts or directions. Step in to the door manageable for me , then the... More

Very cosy room. The one with kitchen is good for long staying. Nutritious breakfast in the restaurant at 1st floor but very limited choice with high prices in the evening there. Not very good ventilation in gym on 3rd floor and absence of chin-up bar there. No cups in restaurant for taking away very tasty coffee.

I went on a Waterloo battlefield tour and found this hotel to be very comfortable, with all usual comforts one expects. The restaurant is very good indeed for dinner (langoustine, scallops, rib-eye steak) and the breakfast is superior to most. The dining area has a fantastic brick vaulted ceiling for those that love their architecture. The location offers good access... More
