In winter it is freezing cold in rooms as if you sleep out in the street. Heating is regularly turned off by room cleaning. Toilet is joint with the room - no walls at all. Quite non-standard rooms - painted concrete walks, columns and ceiling. Looks like a skeleton of an old refurbished building.

The hotel has a great location, in the pedestrian area, the middle of town, with all the restaurants and bars around. Hotel staff is friendly and very professional, when you get the chance to see one. They are not around much. There is noone at the reception desk for most of the time. Breakfast was very good, the choice of... More

Stayed at this hotel on business. Short walk from station alongside canal. Greeted by very friendly receptionist and checked in promptly. Room was modern . Found the lighting to be a little inadequate and the airconditioning rather slow. For me the mattress on the bed was too soft. Was hoping to use the wellness facility after a long day of... More

As a frequent traveller to the Mechelen area, I can highly recommend the Mercure Ve. I have stayed mostly for business but it is equally good for leasure. I have tried all hotels in the Mechelen area and this is for me the best 4* available. The staff of this franchise Mercure is very dedicated and friendly. Especially the personal... More

Having spent my nights in Mechelen I have tested nearly all the hotels including Mercure Mechelen Ve. The location of Ve is perfect, right in the middle of town, next to the channel and with plenty of bars and restaurants around. The hotel building is an old industrial building which has been refurbished. Sometimes this work really well however in... More

Having never been to Mechelen until invited by a colleague I hadn't expected much from the town. No one had mentioned it as a must visit place in Belgium but I had visited most of the well known cities and had a spare weekend. We were recommended this hotel by my colleague and we were not disappointed. The fish market... More

I travel a lot for work and every time I go to Mechelen, it feels like coming home. The staff is inviting and incredibly friendly. The rooms are trendy, warm and simply all I would ever need and a little more. The location is the best in town, amongst the local bars and restaurants, next to the river for a... More

First time stay at this hotel and found it to be very nice. Rooms are very clean and tidy with the room decor being a high point. Bathroom are very clean with good showers. Breakfast is good, with a wide selection of meats, cheese and fruit. Location is also very good for Mechelen city centre and access to Antwerp.

Visited twice... in September 2013 and September 2014, once on my own, once with the wife. Both times, the staff were incredibly helpful and polite. Rooms are great - large, clean with a nice bathroom and great shower... and the fireplace in the suite was a nice touch. Location is fantastic on the old fish market with an abundance of... More

Stayed in hotel for one night, on business trip. Rooms really nice, good open modern style. Bar area was nice, with welcoming bar man. He chatted with us for sometime, recommending places to eat, what beers to try. Breakfast was okay, and typically European. Would definitely recommend hotel!
