Hotel is within a 2-3 minute walk of Grote Markt, and the quite wonderful and startlingly beautiful cathedral. We upgraded from a DeLuxe room to an "Atmosphere Room", which was spacious, and overall acceptable. Disconcerting and inconvenient (not intended as a pun!) was a toilet separate from the bathroom. Tea and coffee available, but tea and coffee supplies were not... More

Very much enjoyed our 4 night stay here! The staff are very helpful and friendly and speak excellent English. The hotel had very pleasant main rooms and we enjoyed the free wine and tapas that is served from 6-8 each evening Mon-Thur. Breakfasts were beautifully arranged and there is a very good choice. I did feel that the cooked elements... More

Nice hotel right in the center of Antwerp, position is great. Currently being renovated, but the work didn't affect our stay at all. We didn't like the first room we were given and they nicely changed it the next day. The breakfast buffet is vast and well-organized. Absolutely satisfactory. A mention to the staff, everyone was extremely nice and kind.... More

Breakfast was as expected and had everything you would want. We found that it was very hot in the hotel. Also TV channels you can get the whole world but not any belgian stations. centrally located not far from good restaurants and bars on the grote market or the groen plaats.

We recently spent one night here on a short trip to Antwerp. From the third floor the views over roof scapes are great and you can hear the bells and see the Cathedral spire and its easy walking around the city. The room was quiet and comfy, but not luxurious. Public rooms are ok but dated. The breakfast however was... More

Extraordinarily well placed in this attractive city, the Rubens offers good sized, comfortable rooms. The staff are extremely helpful and will offer advice, directions and assistance of all kinds. The breakfast was first class: an enticing range of tasty items that lured you towards over indulgence. Hell, it was new year after all!

So, if location is what you're after…this is the place to stay in Antwerp…right in the thick of things…but a quiet street away. Its a real pleasure. The hotel itself is tired and desperate for a make over…and the interior decorator seriously needs assistance…very dated and unimaginative…AND THEN…whats with the pornographic glass bed side tables that change colours on demand…... Just back from a 5 night stay at the Hotel Rubens and could not be happier with our choice.  From our initial booking to departure nothing was too much trouble- such as immediately responding to queries and providing restaurant recommendations etc. We flew into Schipol airport and took the Thalys to Antwerp (1hour journey).  Arriving at the station (fabulous building in... I read many of the reviews and a lot of people complained about the kind of old fashioned/stale/not updated look of some rooms. True, the walls have a strange color, the rooms are not that big and they lack the modern look of most chains' hotels. Our room, for example, and the wc on one side of the room and... More

Had the opportunity of staying here for one night in the beginning of December 2014. Nice room, pleasant atmosphere and located in the heart of the old town. Parking in a nice garage near by. Walking distance to a number of nice bars and restaurants.
