We spent 1 night in this charming hotel (1 adult and 2 teenagers) in a duplex suite. Check-in went very easy. Overall staff was friendly but not warm-hearted. Our room provided lots of space - especially the bathroom was very comfortable. Furniture was a bit worn-out and outdated. WiFi is free and of good quality. We had an excellent long... More

We recently spent 2 nights in Elzenveld, a calm oasis in the middle of a busy city. This residence/conference centre is a very historic building with great charm. The rooms are in the former convent and there are two lovely walled gardens which are soothing after a day of sightseeing. The breakfasts are buffet style and the pastries are baked... More

Hotel Elzenveld is a historic building,a former convent, in a kind of mews near Antwerp's botanic garden. Rooms are simple, bathrooms large (at least mine was). I looked over the front lawn, which has a lovely sculpture, lit up at night. Buffet breakfast served by a pleasant and friendly staff. This hotel was chosen for me for a business meeting,... More

We selected this place to stay for a few days visit to Antwerp on the basis of it's unusual history, closeness to the old town centre (about 20 mins slow stroll) and the peace it offered being quite set back from the main road and overlooking a central garden quadrangle. Our room (111) had very comfy beds, high end linen... More

But the worst is the staff person in the breakfast room who serves you a few milliliters of coffee and then hovers over the machine to make sure you cannot get any more -- seriously? Very disappointing and unwelcoming.

The hotel is near the shopping area. I had a room for two nights (room 124) and the room was noisy. The noise came from inside the hotel. In addition, the bed was from sixties with a wooden bed and thin mattress. The room would have been renovated totally for the price of about 110 €/night. At the breakfast there... More

I've stayed at Elzenveld twice before, and every time its charm captivates me anew. It's not a perfect hotel in terms of either amenities or comfort, but the service is almost always more than acceptable, and it's within walking distance of all the business that I have to do. The ghosts in the garden must be the most photographed spot,... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this delightful hotel - it is such a lovely surprise when you walk in off the square and find yourself in a verdant oasis! Great location. Nice old buildings with some very nice features from the past inside - however my room was quite modern and comfortable with a decent bathroom - there was... More

Maybe I was unlucky. I had a very small room and a bathroom even smaller. It was difficult to shower. Elzenveld a conference hotel for large groups not having facilities like a bar or restaurant for individuals or couples staying in Antwerps; the neighbourhood offers pubs (and pubfood). Location however is good. Close to the old inner city. For conferences... More

Staff are very welcoming and helpful. The place is very well located and the price correct. Just outside there is a nice square where the locals meet for food and drinks, all of it quite nice. Since the Elzenveld was a convent just over 40 years ago, this is a special place. Slightly spooky statutes in the back garden give... More
