We stayed for one night and got a suite. The view was facing street not the beach which I would recommend. The master bedroom was large and seperate from the living area. The second bedroom was slightly off the living area and was literally a closet with a bunkbed in it. It's ok for sleeping for a little strange. The... more

With a great location, right on the beach, the hotel would seem perfect. But first they get you with the car park. There is virtually no car parking space outside, so you need to use the hotel's car park. They offer a flat fee. €15 for the day, and you can come & go as often as you please. But... more

I went for 2 days anniversary break with my partner in December 2008 and we were not disappointed. We booked the "romantic package" which consisted of room with balcony,breakfast-lunch-dinner included, drinks offered, use of the spa and free nice bath products. I thought the price was good value for money, especially regarding prices in Holland. We found the food very nice and... more

A descent hotel with a great location by the beach and just by a tram station. Breakfast was quite good but the elevator is the most special thing about the hotel. Feels like you are diving when you get in there. One thing they should do is to get some anti-virus software on their public computers. more

I tried to maintain an open mind about this hotel, which we booked because it was the only available pet-friendly hotel near The Hague; however, it was a bit grim and tired as I had feared. Some areas of the hotel have been renovated – but not extensively. On the plus side: Our superior sea-facing room afforded a balcony with... more

This hotel is awful Bathroom is cramped and dirty The ironing board strategically folds out over your bed making it very irritating to use as have to dance around your bed. Decor is terrible - the place is stuck in a 1980s timewarp. Some of the rooms have no airconditioning. Room overlooks the tram so get a 07.00 wake up... more

This weekend we stayed here to celebrate my mothers birthday. We booked 3 rooms but what a disaster. The staff lied regarding parking spaces, they only have 2 child-seats in the hotel which leaves some angry parents at a breakfast table, the food is horrible and last but not least the hotel violates privacy rules. This morning after breakfast we... more

As of may/june 08 the building work in the foyer seems to have been completed and the entrance is now pleasant and modern. The staff are mostly polite, except for the guy who answers the night bell. The rooms are functional although beware of the ones nearest the tram station as they can be very noisy from around 7 am,... more

I stayed at the Carlton Beach on business for 8 nights in March 08. The hotel itself had work going on while I was there and it was not possible to enter/exit the building through the front entrance. A number of times we had to go through the car park to get out of the hotel. No doubt when this... more

The Carlton Beach Hotel Scheveningen is a tourist class, half-star property that thinks, acts, and charges like it is four-star or better. My stay was for business and encompassed 22 consecutive nights so my comments, I feel, are an accurate representation rather than a snapshot that happened to catch the staff on a bad day. Location: The best feature of... more
