This was our second stay at Hotel Grand Philadelphia, and it was again excellent ! We asked same room (20), and we found it in exact same state as 2 years ago: huge, spotless, big bathroom, quiet though overlooking the street (double windows very effective, and airco very silent). Chic decor, king size bed, nice duvet, pillow and mattress, complete... more

Not the most welcoming of hotels with a rather dingy reception area and a most peculiar smell of - well - sewrage, or stale cabbage really! However, the staff were helpful and the room we stayed in on the first floor was excellent (and non-smelly!). It was a modern twin room with duvets, en-suite with bath and shower, and a... more

We have just spent a couple of nights at this lovely hotel. It was our first time to Rotterdam and so took a taxi from the Central Station to the hotel which was about 10 Euros. A better way to travel would have been on the No7 tram, getting off one stop from the southern end, where the hotel is... more

Regularly travel to Rotterdam with work, and have come to really appreciate this hotel. Was a bit put off at first as it doesn't have a restaurant, and sometimes when I head back at night I just want to grab a quick bite to eat. However there are so many good restaurants nearby that this isn't really a problem. All... more

I stayed at the Grand Hotel Philadelphia for four nights in early September and enjoyed my stay. The hotel was booked for me (at my request, after viewing the list of potential lodgings) by the organizers of a meeting, so I don't know the exact rate. The hotel is located near the waterfront, in a neighborhood that was historically apparently... more

I stayed at the Grand Hotel Philadelphia with a friend of mine recently. We stayed for 5 nights and shared a twin room. The room was excellent, quite large, and absolutely clean. I think the hotel has been recently renovated. It is quite modern and has lovely decor. I absolutely enjoyed my stay. The only possible negative aspect is that... more

I always asked for the same superieur room, but this time they gave me a de luxe room for a superieur price. The room was smaller and on the front side of the hotel which is very noisy. I asked for the room I made a reservation for but it didn't help me at all. In the room there is... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Philadelphia for one night last week. I have to say our room was lovely and very nicely decorated. The staff were helpful and friendly and I would have no problem recommending this hotel to anyone. Its location is superb, in the shipping quarter with about a 15min walk to the centrum or else... more

I am honored to provide the first review of this lovely, intimate hotel. Refurbished and opened in May of 2006, everything is fresh, clean and functional. It's the melding of 2-3 sections of an old building(s). It's about two blocks from Erasmusbrug and essentially caticorner from Veerhaven (the old harbor). The #5 Tram is a straight shot to-from Centraal Station.... more
