Must be the worst boutique style hotel I have had this misfortune to stay in. The service was (or lack of) was a joke. We were pointed in the direction of the elevator, nobody to show us to our room or take our bags. The receptionist did however point out that all the IPODs were out so we couldn't have... more

I stayed in this hotel while on business for work. I found the personnel very friendly and welcoming. The bath was huge and the bed was great. The restaurant does great food as well. more

The hotel looks great, but it's definitely not a place for a good sleep. Rooms are noisy and personnel seem unprofessional and untrained to cope with complaints. So not a great value for money. more

We booked this hotel for its design/trendy/hip qualifications, although we wouldn't rate it as a 4*. It is definitely better than a 3* hotel, but not quite good enough for another star according to us. We loved the location (10 min walk away from Euromast), the whole concept of the hotel and the good design ideas. Nevertheless, it's a pity... more

I read about this hotel by chance in a newspaper article a few years ago, although it was only last year that I finally got the chance to stay at Stroom. Rotterdam is without doubt by favourite Western European City, and if you're planning to have a weekend here with your partner, then this has to be the perfect place.... more

We have had great lunches in the restaurant of Stroom for at least two years. We love the food and the ambiance. Hence, when we needed a Rotterdam hotel, we went for Stroom. I wish we didn't. It was noisier than we expected, but after midnight it became quiet. The split-level room was nice. Impressive bath. Interesting design ideas. But...... more

We stayed in a split-level studio and were disappointed. At first the beamer didn't work properly. Every 30 minutes the beamer shut down because of overheating. And that wasn't all. The Bose-dvd-player refused to play movies in fullcolour, but only black and white. More Bose-complaints: the I-pod dockingstation didn't work, so we had no music. The worst thing off all... more

We booked this hotel to conclude a trip through the Netherlands: it seemed like the perfect place to relax, before going home (and back to work). It was an experience with highs and lows: we 'd booked a split-level studio, which on first inspection appeared cosy: large bathtub, twin shower, nice bed linen. The tv-set was tiny (a 15' flatscreen,... more

Another of my favourites in Rotterdam, however it won't be to everyone's taste, and I have to admit I prefer the studios to the rooms. The food is great and the staff really, really helpful. Two downsides - it can be noisy! Other guests don't seem to appreciate their every footstep and in some cases every word can be heard,... more

Staying at a former power station appealed to us and we booked for a 2 night weekend stay in one of the suites. Upon entering the hotel the stench of cigarette smoke was disgusting and I do occcasionally smoke myself. We were kept waiting at reception for about 15 minutes until the only receptionist returned to check us in. The... more
