We stayed at the Hotel New York one night on a recent road trip. This was hands-down one of the biggest highlights of the trip. I chose the small tower room for myself and my son, because I liked the location and history of the hotel, and thought the tower room would be something unusual for about 30 Euro extra.... more

With the watertaxi to this excellent place. Great hotel and good styled. We had a lunch just in front of the hotel (same kitchen). The service is really bad. Not friendly...when they have time ...they come. We ordered a ceasar salad and a ...duck salad? Well first off all...this was the worsest salad we've ever had!!! They forgot the ansjovis... more

My husband and I went to the Netherlands to retrace our ancestors' footsteps and celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. My father and his parents immigrated to the USA from Rotterdam in 1917 on a Holland American Lines ship. They left from this spot. So our connection with the hotel had an emotional element to it. The experience was wonderful. We... more

Stay here whenever on business in Rotterdam. Position-wise, it is a little out-of-the-way, but that's about the only downside. You are surrounded by water, you can take their well priced water-taxi from the hotel to the historic Veerhaven or further, if arranged. The staff are efficient and freindly, the rooms are quirky to say the least and completely individual. While... more

I enjoyed my stay in Hotel New York. As others have said, the rooms are amazing. My room was massive, with great views of the harbour. Good service from friendly staff. It's a bit pricey, but worth it overall for the experience. more

Disclaimer: prior to this stay I had just spent two nights in the Peninsula hotel in Hong Kong, in a deluxe harbourview suite - this is arguably one of the finest hotels in the world, so anything that follows would have a hard time living up to such standards. Nonetheless, I found the room price of 170 euros for a... more

I' ve known Hotel New York for ages because I live in the city it's in. I enjoyed the high teas in the restaurant but I had never stayed in the hotel itself. Until now, for my job I had to stay two nights in this famous hotel in Rotterdam ( ask anyone in the city and they will show... more

Has a nautical theme. The rooms are large with interesting interior design. A colleague finds the rooms too big, cavernous. But I find the rooms spacious and interesting. The food is just okay in the restaurant. Nice location along the water. more

The Hotel NY is unique in all senses of the word. It is an extraordinary late 19th c building set at the end of a pier in the Rotterdam harbor, renovated with Dutch sensibility and funkiness in the mid 1990s. The original architecture, the quirky art, the views, the restaurant decor, the setting..nothing like it anywhere. That said, the world... more
