I spent a week in this hotel for a business trip. Facilities are good (better than average in the country), hotel is modern, with WIFI in the rooms. Service at the restaurant was very slow although the staff was very nice. Food was average but a bit expensive. Not within walking distance from city center, so better look for another... More

Friendly staff, though overall the hotel is a bit soulless, rooms were clean, though both our beds needed replacing quite soon, breakfast wasn't great either unfortunately. Very handy for the zoo and am going to squeeze in a visit before I leave today.

We stayed at this hotel many years ago before Van de Valk took it over. It was a fabulous hotel then Ever since we have seen a decline in the standards and the fixtures and fittings of the rooms. The entrance and reception have not changed, The very quiet lifts are the same. The corridors outside the rooms look as... More

Stayed two nights in a double room (actually two super single mattresses placed together). Room has ample sockets, and mine has an unblocked view of a huge surface car park. Apparently the property is next to a sports facility, which explains the parking capacity. Breakfast is relatively good on variety and quality compared to other European hotels. Bathroom is pre-fab... More

Hotel is very clean and staff was very friendly. The breakfast was average. Room was spacious but, strangely enough, it seems that there are no rooms facing the adjacent lake: half of it face onto the parking lot and the other half onto hotel lobby. Quite difficult to reach with public transport. No bars and/or restaurants around.

We stayed in this hotel because we visited The North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam. We had a spacious junior suite, which was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. After arrival we had lunch on the nice terrace, the quality of the food was good. The breakfast next day was sufficient and average. This hotel can be recommended... More

The hotel by itself is quite good. Modern architecture, everything is convenient. The furniture is need to be changed slightly. The breakfast was too expensive for my opinion - 17,5 euro for sausages, omelets, some ham and cheese? Too less i think. And the most important - about location. It's situated close to rhe zoo. So, you could easily spend... More

The Van de Valk Hotel Rotterdam-Blijdorp is conveniently located to access the airport and central station by public transport. It's also right next door to the Zoo. The hotel is clean, neat and the king size bed is huge. It's a little isolated, no cafes, etc for a mile or more, so it's eating in the restaurant, or catch the... More

We stayed for 9 nights on a hockey tour and the hotel staff did everything they could to help us. They provided early breakfasts, additional towels and were the friendliest staff we have ever come across in a hotel of that size. Raymondo, in particular, helped us with directions to local places and kept smiling throughout! Rooms were very well... More

I was hesitant when I booked this hotel, given the average score from Trip advisor's reviews. In the end I was happy we stayed there. Positives: price (very good for Rotterdam), proximity to city centre, free parking, free drinks at our arrival (we had an excellent wine from the bar), late breakfast (till 11am), large size of the room, excellent...
