Nice and cozy hotel. May seem a bit old-fashioned to some, but the rooms are in fact quite charming . So, don't expect luxury nor completely renovated rooms, but the rooms are clean and comfortable and the bathrooms in fact have recently been renovated. Situation is ideal - in the city centre and thus close to everything. Price/quality ratio is... More

I spent 2 nights at the Nieuw Minerva. Hotel reception was helpful and knowledgeable. The room was sweet and charming. It was themed as a hunter's room. The bed was big and comfortable, the bathroom was cute with black and white tiles, and whole setting was just great. Breakfast was meats, cheeses, breads, eggs, and cereal - with really great... I stayed in this hotel for 4 days in Sep, 2014. The location is convenience for sight seeing and very good view if the room faced the canal. The lobby and breakfast room are in old-fashion style and beautiful. The hotel upgrade our room to ? "white angel", spacious and clean enough especially the bathroom. But that's some problem for... This is an old-fashioned hotel in the heart of the city - most rooms overlook the canals and the lobby is quaint. But the whole hotel looks tired (apart from the lobby) and could do with an overhaul. Bedrooms are tiny (good beds though) and nowhere to put anything. Curtains look dirty. Breakfast is mediocre. It is not a bad... More

This place is very different from the american-style chain hotels: Old building with steep stairs, small-ish rooms, each different from the other, furniture is plainly antique. I found it charming, but do not expect a fancy room. A greatest advantage of this place is the location: <7 minutes walk from any place in old-town Leiden, made it perfect for attending... More

I have stayed at this hotel on multiple occasions dating back to 2012, and I strongly recommend it. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and clean (and many of them have nice views of the canal just outside the hotel), and the location is right in the middle of the city, easy walking distance to... More

This hotel is very different from the corporate anonymous chain hotels. The decor is very individual and the room in which we stayed had a 17th century style bed with curtains! There were various reproduction/prints on the walls and even an easel. There is a friendly welcome and helpful advice about local pubs and restaurants. Cycles can be parked safely... More

This hotel consists of converted canal houses and is therefore quirky and individual with steep staircases and no lift. Once you accept that it is charming if a little dated in places. Staff were very helpful and breakfast good. Leiden is a delight and I recommend the terrace of the cafeteria of the V & D department store for a... More

My wife had seen a magazine article outining the attractions of Leiden, and I booked the hotel based on its central location. We had a lovely weekend. The staff couldn't do enough for us, and the centre of Leiden, with its waterways, shops and restaurants, was right on the doorstep. I travel a greta deal on business and get no... More

We recently stayed 2 nights at this hotel and really enjoyed it. Great view and great location. As it is an older renovated building keep in mind it doesn't have a lift - not a negative at all, but just a note if that is really important. I really liked staying in Leiden, it is a quieter, less in your... More
