the location is great, near to train station. but rooms are very old. they need a renewal. the room was very cold, check the radiators. the breakfast was bad. Prices are average. you may choose for one or two nights.

Stayed one night (couple+1teen). Good location. Near station and city center. A couple of Indonesian restaurants nearby. The breakfast is so ordinary though that it became too expensive. Recommend not to purchase the breakfast.

Budget hotel around 5 minute walk from Leiden Centraal station. Location is very good, since you can go anywhere in central Leiden by walk and the train and bus station is just a few minutes away. Rooms are large and equipped with water boiler and fridge. Complimentary toiletries, coffee and tea. Room cleaning every day. Towels were changed on a... More

I stayed here during a business trip, although I booked a single bedroom, they gave me a double bedroom with balcony. The room was very spacious, with lots of opportunities to sit down and work. Very good when you come to this place on your own for business. The breakfast was good, with a big pot of tea or coffee... More

To sum it up: the service is ok, the location quite practical and the rooms not dirty, though quite old and really not welcoming. I stayed at the Mayflower actually twice, with some divergent experiences.. the first time I stayed at the back of the hotel in a room from the 80s/90s including balcony. The room was quite nice and... More

We were staying a couple of nights in Leiden, visiting old haunts having lived there many years ago. I picked the Mayflower as it is situated quite centrally on Beestenmarkt. The place is non-smoking, but entering the reception there was quite a stale tobacco smell. The reception area was also rather tatty looking - with chips out of paintwork etc.... More

Title says it all, the view from the huge windows across the square was exquisite though lacking in privacy while you enjoyed it. The room temperature was uncomfortably hot and the bathroom window unable to be left open due to its easy access from the outside, but it was possible to get some fresh air blowing through while we were... large comfortable room, nothing fancy! Good shower/tub and nice breakfast buffet for 7.50 Euros. Less than 5 min to central station and from there 12 min by train to Shiphol, 40 to Amsterdam Centraal and by bus 30 min to Keukenhof - the tulip gardens. Also easy access to Den Haag and Rotterdam
