The hotel rooms are great and the food very good but the location was poor (junction of two busy roads and therefore very noisy) and the service very poor. It is an expensive hotel but there are not enough staff. more

Because of a large reconstruction of the hotel, the beautiful old building can hardly be seen. Therefore the hotel now looks like most other Van der Valk hotels. The rooms are spacious and clean and the breakfast buffet is good enough. more

Booked this hotel for 2 nights as I had visited Leiden before and fancied accomodation there as well. When we arrived we discovered the Hotel is situated quite far out of the town and we had to pay from 12-17 Euro each time I needed a taxi to the central Station. The hotel was brilliant nice people nice food nice atmosphere. Its not ideal for a backpacker as such because i got funny looks because was not in chinos and wore armani anyway the bed was amazing , so amazing in fact i slept through breakfast on the 2 nights i was there so bravo for that more

We recently stayed two nights at the Hotel Het Haagsche Schow (also known as the Hotel Leiden Van der Valk). We very much enjoyed our stay...the room was nice, the bathroom outstanding (included jacuzzi and stand alone shower), on-site restaurant was good (very nice breakfast buffet), and staff always helpful and polite.
