Spent 4 nights in this very comfortable hotel. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Utrecht is a fine city with a great atmosphere and the hotel is particularly well situated. We arrived at the station and took a taxi because we weren't 100% sure which way to go, but the driver said it was actually quicker to walk because... More

I was looking for a hotel for one night outside Amsterdam (because the prices there were so ridiculously high). Also, wanted to see some interesting, smaller cities in Netherlands within easy reach from Schiphol and Utrecht filled those requirements. I wanted a hotel close to the railway station, which would be affordable and comfortable. Usually, I don't want to stay... More

Had 3 nights /2 days here and was really impressed The location is amazing. A couple of acres of walled grounds yet very close to town The service was first class, the rooms 5 star and the food sensational. I was surprised the room rate was so reasonable given the high class of facilities. The town itself is nicer than Amsterdam... More

Stayed four nights. This is a grand hotel with a wonderful history. Lovely setting with gardens and outdoor sitting area. Easy walk to busy canal area. Easy walk to/from Central Station -- even with luggage. Staff is wonderful – liveried, attentive, helpful, friendly – everything you could ask! Room is clean, spacious, well-appointed, appropriate amenities, fresh and plentiful linens, robes... More

It is a very nice luxurious hotel with a very fine breakfast in the heart of Utrecht. However the mattress quality is not what you would expect and also the shower drainage was not working properly. It has real character and you feel really welcome by staff.

I stayed in the hotel for 6 nights and to be honest I cannot find one single fault with this hotel even if I try. The minute I checked in to the day I left I was extremely impressed with the staff service. The grounds in the hotel is just amazing. Location in the heart of Utrcht. I stayed in... More

This hotel is located within walking distance of the city centre as well as the central station. The rooms are of high standard and the staff is very helpful and friendly. A big plus is also that you as a guest get free parking. Compared to other hotels I have visited in utrecht this is certainly the best one.

Very handy for sightseeing in Utrecht we are so pleased we chose the Karel V. Our room number was 108 on the ground floor and found it to be very comfortable and enjoyed being able to look out into the gardens and also enjoyed lovely birdsong. We ate two nights in the Brasserie Goeie Louisa and the food was lovely... More
