We spent two comfortable nights at this well known hotel. Delicious buffet breakfast in an elegant dining room with an excellent selection of hot dishes in addition to the continental offering of cold meats and cheeses. Quality bedding and a luxurious bed although the decor of our room was a little 'dated'. We are so looking forward to staying here... More

We only stayed here for 1 night but our room was excellent, very large and well equipped. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The hotel itself is very well situated for the town centre. The only negative aspect of this hotel I found was the quality of the breakfast it was not up to a five star hotel!

I stayed at the Karel V for 2 nights in an Empire room in the Napoleonic wing (room 202). The room was very big with a double basin in the bathroom, separate shower cubicle, and bath. The toilet was in a separate room which was a nice touch. It was very clean and nicely furnished, although quite old fashioned (dark... More

Spent a night here on a business trip. Our room was spacious. Check-in service is efficient. We enjoyed lunch at the bistro, food was excellent despite slow service and the orders getting mixed up. Property features large open spaces, with lush gardens and gravel walkways (foot paths would have been nice). Property is obviously historic, and looked to have a... More

Located in the heart of Utrecht a very grand building with an impressive entrance. Charging residence €15 to park in the car park was a quite expensive. My room was in the 'modern' wing which felt like it had been build in the 90s but not refurbished or redecorated since then. I had two single beds rather than a double,... More

I stayed at Grand Hotel 2 nights in june. Its a really nice hotel, very fancy :). Friendly staff as well. The only minus I have was that the beds were to hard for me. But that is personal of course and I am kind of picky on that. Other than that everything was perfect. Free/good wifi.

We only stayed here one quick night so can't comment on most of the 5-star services they offer, like wellness, room service. etc. I trust they will be good. Let me rate the room, general service and breakfast. The 'Superior Room' we had, was spacious, but a little 'dated'. All amenities were there, incl. robes, slippers, etc. The bed was... More

The hotel Grand Hotel Karel V has a fascinating history which dates from the 13th century. Originally called Het Duitse Huis (The German House), it was the headquarters of the Teutonic Knights. Distinguishable by their white cloaks emblazoned with a black cross, their duty was to defend the Faith and to care for the sick, the wounded and the elderly.... More

How pleasant to stay in this most elegant and historical place. Lovely main building, comfortable rooms and a lovely brasserie dinner in the courtyard / garden. Highly recommended and quite reasonable. For next time I would hope to be welcomed on arrival and leaves to have been swept on balcony!

I stayed already several times in this hotel. Also last week, I had the opportunity to stay there. The hotel is one of the best hotels in the Utrecht area. It is located in the city center with still a very nice garden to sit in. It has an indoor swimming pool and a great restaurant. Certainly recommendable for a... More
