I should have been suspicious when this was the only room left in Haarlem at tulip time. Where to begin? Checked in, knew we were early for a room to be ready, but given a key anyway. Not sure why, as the room had not been made up yet! Came back later to the dumpy, dirty room. One of two... More

The Carillon is a very well-situated B&B right in the centre of Haarlem on the Grote Markt right opposite St Bavo's church. It is a ten minute walk from the train station and offers basic value for money. I had booked a 1-bed room with shared facilities, these rooms are situated on the third floor, and the stairs are very... More

My husband has used this hotel for years to see his son that lives here. It's been like a second home. Small rooms with amenities. We just need a clean room to sleep and that's exactly what you get. It's small really small by American standards but you don't stay in the room much when your in Haarlem. The staff... More

Thanks PLSWE for your review. It's great to hear that you / your husband have been staying with us for so long. You / he may have noticed that we have re-decorated the rooms recently and we hope that makes it even nicer for our customers to stay. We took over the business relatively recently and are steadily making investments... More

I was there in the late evening of October 13th til early morning of the 15th. Even though I got there after 8pm, my room was clean and ready for me still. I was very tired and couldn't finish my dinner the first night, But I had 2 wonderful meals after that and 3 wonderful breakfasts. The staff was wonderful... More

We stayed at this lovely hotel for 4 nights in September. Very clean rooms with comfortable beds and helpful staff. We loved the location, being a 10-15 minute walk to the bus & train station as well as close to many nice places to eat within the Groet Market and shopping. Haarlem is a wonderful place to stay with easy... More

We stayed at this property on the last night of our trip before flying home. We had trouble finding affordable lodging in Amsterdam and Haarlem for under 300 Euro a night and with no 2 night minimum for this particular Saturday night, so we took this recommendation from our Rick Steves book. Here were my chief complaints: -Walls are paper... More

Reading some comments and seeing pictures it looked such a pretty hotel, well located and reasonable price. Oh my god! I tried two different rooms. First one so small, no light, smelling smoke and kitchen so strong......bed was like for a kid !... Second one was smelling the same, 20 euros more for a bigger bed but even more dirty,... More

I wanted a hotel that would be cheap but of reasonable quality for a 24h layover in Amsterdam. I chose the Carillon hotel in Haarlem - it is ok for the price but there are a few drawbacks... I got there early in the morning (9.30) and I could not check in before 1pm. Amsterdam is only 15 mins by... More

The hotel was recommended by two travel books and I don't know why. I would never stay here again. The outside looks nice but the inside is totally disgusting. The bed was tiny and very uncomfortable. There was a lot of noise from outside so I didn't get much sleep. The rooms need a total revamping. This was not a... More
