Host Leslie provided excellent tips on how to get around Amsterdam during our 3 night stay. The Stop and Go bus on nearby Prinsengracht assisted us greatly in our travels to venues in Amsterdam. Superb breakfast each morning - even fresh bread from the market one morning. We had the upper room which was very spacious and comfortable and enjoyed... more

Stayed at this charming B&B for 3 nights. The host, Leslie, (friendly & informative throughout our stay) informed us of a change of room upon our arrival however this wasn't a problem as the suite we were shown to was comfortable, well decorated and had tea/coffee making facilities. There are a good number of bars & restaurants within 5 minutes... more

This was our third trip to Aemstelhuys Bed & Breakfast. As always we received a super welcome from Lesley who is an amazing hostess and is incredibly welcoming. Lesley is happy to provide lots of information about the wonderful city of Amsterdam and the pleasure is that you get an insight into the dutch way of life, which you would... more

Almost everything about this stay was perfect. The house was beautiful, well located in a quiet downtown neighbourhood, clean, well appointed. The breakfast was a very good European style breakfast, served with very flexible hours. Leslie was a wonderful host. We had the room downstairs, with a separate entrance. It was a great room, large and well appointed. The only... more

Lesley was a very gracious hostess and made us feel at home in her B&B. My husband and I had many a lively conversation with her and the other guests while enjoying our scrumptious breakfasts. There was plenty of food! We stayed four nights and the location could not have been better. Because of the B&B's excellent location, we were... more

My husband and I wanted to experience Amsterdam the way people who live there do and this B&B certainly provides that in a lovely, typically Dutch canal house. Be prepared for climbing some steep stairs but worth it when you get up there. Our large room on the top floor was very nice and the street was a wonderful street,... more

My fiance and I have just arrived home yesterday after spending 3 fantatsic nights with friends at this b & b. We were pleased to find that the pictures on the website were 100% true. We stayed in the Lady Grey room which was beautifully laid out and very clean. We had a small but very clean and smart modern... more

I have to admit the owner was very kind and gracious, however the room we stayed in (downstairs) was VERY cold, dark and smelled of mildew. We voiced our concern to the owner about the temperature and she told us it was "plenty warm". We ended up sleeping in our cashmere sweaters every night! Further, she has a CAT, which... more

We stayed in this B&B for six days in January. The proprietress was very kind, provided excellent breakfasts and accommodating as far as our requests for access to a microwave and early breakfasts. Our dog was welcomed. The room we stayed in had a separate entrance which was nice with the dog. I found the room to be a little... more

My husband and I have been living in Holland and as friends were coming over we all got together in Amsterdam to celebrate New Year. Aemstelhuys had been recommended to us and the house, location and our hostess, Lesley, more than met our expectations. The old house was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we were welcomed with hot chocolate and... more
