BBIJ was a wonderful place to stay. Easy to get into town on one bus route from right around the corner, a nice little bar at the end of the road if you didn't fancy heading too far out in the evenings. Tina was a wonderul host, very helpful, not intrusive at all - left to our own devices, so... more

This place is awesome - backs onto a garden along the canal. There is a supermarket and brewey close by - also a coffeeshop a few doors down too. The room was one of the highlights - we were even taken on a short cruise along the canal at night. Would be hard to find anywhere with this price that... more

We booked this b&b due to its closeness to a bus line and for the low, low cost. It is located on the side of a canal. We stayed in the garden suite and were very impressed. We had a nice bed and a huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub, shower, sink, toilet. There was a small kitchenette stocked with tea,coffee,... more

We just recently returned from our trip to Europe, which included a two night stay at BB IJ in Amsterdam. We booked directly through the website, which was very easy, with prompt email responses from the property's owners, Tina and Kamiel. We booked the Cottage Room, for a price of 75 euros per night. The directions to the B &... more

Thanks for your review. We are very sorry for the warm water problem you had. We wanted to let you know that we fixed the problem with the hot water. It was the thermostatic shower tap that wasn't working properly. We replaced it. That's also why the other rooms were not affected. We are having a Geyser for our warm...

Kamiel was a most gracious host during our stay. The area of the B&B was perfect and very close to public transportation. The gardens behind the Kuinder Room were spectacular and wonderful to wake up to. I highly recommend this urban oasis for a relaxing way to end your full days of sightseeing in Amsterdam. more

B & B IJ is owned and run by Tina, a delightful and vivacious native of Huntsville, Alabama. On the ground floor of an 18th century canal house, there are two rooms which are stylishly decorated and offer every comfort. I stayed in the Garden Suite, which I highly recommend, and which accesses the canal-front patio. I would leave in... more

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Kuinder Room while visiting Amsterdam. Although somewhat out of the main part of the city, it was in an excellent location (near tram lines) that was very quiet, and near many restaurants and shops. Tram lines into town were only a 5 minute walk away and although about 15-20 minutes into town, it... more

The garden suite at the BBIJ is a wonderful place for a reasonable price. The room is spacious with a large bathroom. Tina, the Inn keeper, was very friendly and extremely helpful with various reservations and information. The only negative thing would be the bed, the mattress was very broken down and uncomfortable and the bed frame was very loud.... more

We at BB IJ are very concerned about our facilities and service and appreciate all feedback. We had not previously gotten any reviews on the bed in the Garden suite. The bed frame is English Art Deco and the mattrass was relatively new. So with keen interest, we tested the bed and made some changes. We have since asked the...
