For the price we paid I didn't expect much but I was massively impressed!! Stunning views over the square. Hygiene is brilliant along with the breakfast (especially the woman who delivers it) would highly recommend to anyone. Will come again

It's a cheap hotel right outside the train station and close to the everything you need. With shops just round the corner and the red light district a 5 minute walk away the price you pay isn't too bad. The extra cleaning charge is a bit steep and not mentioned at the time you book, especially when the rooms aren't... More

I booked this "bed&breakfast" at last minute I haven't read the reviews properly before I booked it. They asked for cleaning fee of 35 euro, we stayed only for 1 night. The room was not clean at all, dusty. This place is labeled as b&b, the breakfast that they offer is a kettle in the room( which ours was covered... More

I've stayed in a lot of hostels in Europe and Asia and was prepared for this to not be the nicest place, but it was worse than expected. The payment was cash only, which was a surprise to me, and Maggy required that my friend and I immediately go to an ATM after just arriving from an overnight flight from... More

Stayed here for one night with my girlfriend, and the owner has clearly been reading the reviews about how dirty the hotel is as our room had an overpowering smell of bleach. We were stung for an extra €35 for a "cleaning charge" on top of the price of the room, which is mandatory. It is incredibly difficult to find,... More

Once I stayed in a hotel in southern Namibia that cost me a pack of cigarettes for the night. 10 times better than this. Smell: intense feces Size: decent Personel: borderline criminals Bathroom: Clean, not bad at all. Location: Only good thing

This place is not as bad as everyone says it is. Me and my girlfriend (both 20 year old uni students) stayed here and thought the place was fine, there is nothing to worry about- If you are older and used to high end hotels this probably isnt the best place. The most annoying part of staying here was the... More

Maggy rejected us at the 11th hour, after making us wait for hours to hear any news at all. A complete shambles, waste of time. We were refunded but not without some hoo-ha to go alongside it. I don't know what happened with this woman, but she came across as a little...weird.

The smell of tobacco smoke and weed was overpowering. They only take cash, the tv had no aerial, the widow didnt close, the door was insecure and the place is generally a hovel. I have stayed in some pretty awful places but I have never had to ask for my money back and leave. They even charged me €35 for... More

It's terrible and felt like a brothel . I would never go back there again and It's very hard to find it, it took us half an hour to find it even though we had the address. The beds were new and comfortable and the pillows too.

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
