im just back from my hols in amsterdam and got to stay there. the reason to choose was the price, location and no really bad reviews on a number of forums. got to admit all good words are true. i guess for a budget hotel as its been positioned it has all hands up. their booking system is a little... You check-in / out in the bar on the ground floor. Payment was demanded upfront. Service was generally brusque, but not unfriendly. The communal areas are dated, but clean. I was on the 3rd floor (4th floor for Americans) the stairs are narrow and steep, like many hotels in Amsterdam. The rooms are also very basic, but again are clean... More

My wife and I spent four nights at the Corner House over last weekend. It was our first time there but have been to Amsterdam many times always staying in budget hotels and have no complaints whatsoever about the hotel. Check in was no problem and included a couple of complimentary beers. The room was clean and warm with fresh... More

I just got back from a 6 night stay at the Hotel Cafe Corner House. The check-in was simple enough, I was required to pay upfront for the 6 nights (@ 30 euros/night) and was given my key to room number 2 which is a single. The room was small and reminded me of a college dorm room. It had... More

I stayed here for three night several weeks ago. The hotel itself is fine, if basic, great for the price. But we had a horrific experience with the barmaid, who verbally abused us and threatened my friend with pepper spray. I made reservations directly with Theo, the owner, via e-mail, and gave him my credit card as a guarantee. So,... More

We're a gang of ten male adults in our 40s and we stayed here for three nights.I booked the hotel and was a bit apprehensive given some feed back left by others.I shouldn't have worried. On arrival we were all given a free beer and showed to our rooms. They were a bit dated but clean and tidy. This hotel does what it... I have stayed in many budget and non-budget hotels throughout Europe and this one was by far the WORST! Our room smelled of old, stale cigratte smoke which was absolutely horrible. It made my stomach sink each time we walked in. What was worse was the shower in the bathroom. The walls were covered with black mold spores which did... More

This is a good option, if you are say stuck and looking at only high rates for the time you will be in town. I stayed here in late May for a few days. I was charged 35Euros per night for the weekend a couple of weeks before my trip. I loved the location being just off Dam Square very... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Corner House twice this year at the end of February and again in March. The cost for a double with shower was only 60 Euro per night. It is the best for this price range in the center and it is clean. No breakfast, but they served us a free drink when we... More
