The best feature is the enthusiastic young staff, who can't do enough for you. But the enjoyable bar and restaurant (with sidewalk patio) on the ground floor, and the new carpet, new windows, new furniture and stylishly outfitted 'wet-room' bathrooms in the four floors of accommodations above, are also a delight. Location doesn't hurt: a 5-minute walk from Central Station... More

I have eaten and had a few drinks in this place, during my many trips through Amsterdam. I have, however, always been curious about the rooms. First of all, the location and price cannot be beat, not for Amsterdam. You are just on the back of Dam Square. The bar/check-in staff were VERY friendly and chatty. They told me about... More

Room was clean-wet room was huge and the breakfast was lovely-friendly staff and good value for money-the location was spot on just a 1min walk to dam square and all the tram stops are right outside-the only down side were the stairs-not suitable if you are disabled

The room was spacious, the bar was great, the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The restaurant was delicious. I don't have a single complaint about this hotel. I plan to book it again for my honeymoon next year.

Stayed here for five days from the third of May 2015..... Loved it! It's not going to be suitable for all or those with disability, the stairs are very steep, and no lift. Our room was on the third floor, a good size comfortable bed and adequate storage for clothing. The best bit was the bathroom, or should I say... More

I would, of course, choose a time for a visit to Amsterdam when the city was full of visitors to some major exhibitions. Rooms were available but at a price that I was not prepared to pay. Furthermore the more central the higher the price and the fewer available so I settled for the Corner House Hotel because it was... More

What a great little hotel! The hotel is located above a small comfortable pub, pretty much across the street from the train station. You walk to the end of the bar to check in. Don't waste your money on a Taxi.... like I did! It wasn't noisy at all from the bar, and my room was remodeled and labeled as... More

We have just come back from Amsterdam and can't rate Corner House Hotel highly enough, it was cheap, spotlessly clean, and the hotel staff couldn't do enough for you, especially Marek the manager. Very steep stairs so anyone with walking difficulties might find them difficult, but it is a typical Dutch house so is to be expected., but staff are... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
