I spent 1 night here, last week, and, again, everything was great. The staff are very friendly and the room was clean and warm. I had room 9 on the 4th floor, which meant those dreaded stairs again and these rooms are very small but functional. I would like a little more space to put clothes but there simply isn't... More

Hotel is very old fashioned. Toilets are underground down a spiral staircase which is cool. It's a very traditional hotel but the rooms are very modern. It's perfectly situated in the centre of Amsterdam and there a bicycle racks out the front of the hotel. Literally around the corner is the palace and a large square with bars .

NOTE: I AM RATING THE RESTAURANT, NOT THE HOTEL. Location is OK. But that's all about it. The place was basically empty when we were (we should have been warned by that) and it seems that it caters customers with low expectations. The menu was unimpressive and the waitresses, who double attending a bar it is connected to, didn't make... More

Have just returned from an overnight stay and it was very comfortable. The room was of a minimalistic style but catered to all our needs, there was shower gel, shampoo and a hairdryer and the shower had a good pressure lots of hot water. We were on the 2nd floor ( there are 4 floors) and I'm glad as the... More

this is a small hotel with really friendly staff, rooms were very clean but very small, necessities were provided, rooms were clean daily and linen was changed. stairs are really steep and there is no lift so be mindful of this. I was on the fourth floor where the ceilings were really slanted making the room seem even smaller. breakfast... More

We visited as a group of 4 people during the week for 1 night. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the wonderful staff who got us all checked in. We were early so the rooms weren't ready yet, we were able to securely store all our luggage at the hotel until our rooms were ready, which... More

Very comfortable, clean and convenient room with incredibly helpful and friendly staff. We had a larger family room (two connecting rooms w. double beds). Great stay as was a last minute booking. Will stay again. Cheers!

The Cafe Corner House ia a basic restaurant with pastas, pizzas, paninis, and main dishes. The servive was pleasant and prompt. The fish and chips were excellent. The tomato soup and ham and cheese panini needed seasoning. Still reasonable and warm.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The room we were given was of a good size. A room safe and flat screen TV were provided. Both it and the on suite were clean. It could be improved by replacing the two cracked panes of glass in the windows and by providing hooks on the... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
