I definately would NOT recommend this hotel. The room had squashed flies all over the walls, the bathroom was covered in damp and grot and we were bitten by some unknown species about 10 times a night. The location is fab, but i would never ever go back!! Be warned, our room was up 5 flights of extremely narrow, tiny... more

When one of your friends arriving late to your hotel hears his taxi driver proclaim “I thought they closed that place down years ago,” you know there is something to be concerned about. What the pictures don’t tell you is that the ‘The Damrak’ - a term that will forever define a shoddy establishment amongst my fellow Damrakians – is... more

Good location, clean rooms...however, although the bathroom looked clean, it absolutely stunk of gut wrenching urine! It was very hard to breath without heaving. The smell would have knocked a lesser person out cold. more

Staying at this hotel right now with a group for 6 for a conference. We each have a room with twin beds. Being the type to normally stay in better hotels and having stayed at the Pulitzer Luxery Hotel in town, I thought my experience at this hotel would be worse. The realities are: - the stairs are steep. If... more

Once up the death-defying stairs, we went into our room, which was as hot as an oven and clearly hadn't been aired out - but the worse was yet to come. The bathroom was diabolical - public urinals have smelt fresher than this bathroom - it brought tears to the eyes and got the gag reflex working. I would like... more

We stayed here as a group as 8, it appeared to cater for a needs with 8 beds in one room and being very central. However, what greeted us was a smell that could only be described as 'death', the en-suit bathroom could have been mistaken for a public toilet that hadn't been cleaned for decades! We couldn't use the... more

Hotel is not as pictured. Room was tiny. Stairs were steep. Not as shown on their website. Moved to Thorbecke Inn in Rembrantplein at an apartment. Much roomier for the same price and a better area. more

The pictures in the website is very misleading. Our room turns out to be cramped, dark and stuffy. The ventilation of the room is very poor. If you open the window, you invite the mosquitoes. If you close it, you risk suffocation. Neither guarantees a good night's sleep. It is at best a hostel, definitely not a hotel. Will NOT... more
