What we liked; 1. Convenient location to De Pijp facilities and nearby restaurants, bars and quieter hidden residential local bars and restaurants. 2. Modern apartment with modern fittings 3. Quiet residential area close to the trams. 4. A convenience store 3 roads away to top up our chip cards. 5. Free Wi-Fi What we didn’t like; 1. Basement studio with... More

I arrived and spoke to some electronic gadget for the door to be opened. On getting in, I found an envelope with my name on it. Having taken a flight of thin or squeezed winding stairs, I enter into a home. The internet is good, the kitchen is fully equipped.

Initially I wanted to re-book the date. Staff was very unfriendly and not helpful through email, so ultimately sticked to the dates booked. If you arrive at the apartment, you have to communicate through an intercom that is connected to the hotel in another part of Amsterdam. If you arrive early, you can put you luggage under the staircase, without... More

We recently spent a week in Amsterdam and wanted a little more space than a regular hotel room would give. In researching the internet and Trip Advisor, I came across the Nova Apartments which sounded ideal - turned out it was all that was promised. We opted for one of the 430 sq. ft. one-bedroom apartments (they have 8 one-bedrooms... More

Absolutely no complaints. Perfect location in a quiet neighbourhood near several major attractions. Very clean and well looked after. Free internet, and they even arranged a cab to take us to the airport. A deep bath you can really immerse yourself in.

These apartments are within close walking distance to several major museums, as well as many excellent cafes, delis and bars. Albert Hein grocery is just down the street and the Albert Cuyp open air street market only a few blocks away. There's a tram stop < 200 meters away (we took the bus, then tram from the airport-very easy commute).... More

This is a great place. Hard to find economic lodging in Amsterdam. This one was one of the few that was within the budget. And it did not disappoint. The neighborhood is great. Even the driver from the airport complimented our choice of stay. It's walking distance from the museum district and right near a metro line. The unit itself... More

Very close to trams, museums, restaurants, grocery store( none more than three blocks)and yet very quiet. Well furnished apt. Nice size bath, kitchenette was well equipped. Stairs in building would not meet US codes. There is a lift to upper floors, but we were downstairs, needing to use a very narrow stepped spiral staircase. We would go back!

Wonderful location near the museums and trams; great grocery store and outdoor market nearby; wonderful restaurants in the neighborhood; walk to parks. Accommodations beautiful, clean, well furnished, quiet. Perfect for our family; relaxing and comfortable to come back to after a long day out and about.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
