We stayed at the hotel during a conference with a couple of additional days for sightseeing. The room size is great and the bathroom enclosed in glass is spectacular. We liked the central location and since it was so close to the train station we where able to walk there and take the train back to the airport. The room... More

Right next to the train station, red light, coffee shops, and great shopping! It is the best place i have stayed in Amsterdam. The free mini bar is a huge plus since in most hotels a soda is 7-9 euros it can really save you some money! My girlfreind and I had a blast walking around this huge hotel and... More

We stayed in the grand amrath on the 18th sept 2010 for 2 nights-3 days. i wish we could have stayed longer as it was beautiful, im quite picky about where i stay and search around as much as i can. This hotel is central to everything you need in Amsterdam, everything is not too much of a walk but... More

We spent our wedding anniversary here. We jumped straight on a train at the airport to central station which was a stones throw from the hotel. It cost us €8.40 by train and was told by a very kind passport checker that taxi would be €50. We had a 4 day 3 night stay and it was perfect! Admittedly the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights recently and enjoyed our stay. The rooms were big and the bed very comnfortable. The concierge was very good at recommending and reserving good places to eat. Breakfast was the typical buffet; nothing outstanding. The only real complaint was that they locked us out of our room twice. The first morning we went for... More

The Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam is by far the best hotel we have ever had the pleasure of staying. If you love art deco and art nouveau architecture then you will be astonished at the attention to detail in this magnificent building. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the concierge until we left, five days later, the... More

We spent six nights at the Amsterdam Amrath. Here are our pros and cons: +We were upgraded to a junior suite. It was very spacious - tall ceilings and windows. The room overlooked the canal. +The hotel is within view of the Central Station. Easy walk. Taxis will not take you from the train station to the hotel. -No hotel... More

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights at the time of the world cup finals when Amsterdam was very much alive and extremely orange! We arrived late in the evening and were warmly welcomed by the receptionist and shown to our room by a very helpful porter who took trouble to explain all its feaures. Our room was... More

We are staying at the Amrath and enjoying the stay. The rooms are large enough for 2 of us ladies to share, the bathroom is large, shower and large soaking tub, 2 sinks and good towels. Large bathrobes and the mini bar is free, they have a good espresso maker in room. The only draw back is lack of hanging... More

Having not being at Amsterdam before, it was quite a challenge choosing a hotel in this town. The Amrath was quite a pleasant surprise, exceeding what I had expected. Very friendly staff at Reception and Restaurant, very nice rooms and a nice spa all of it in a historic building restored to nowadays standards of comfort made me feel quite... More
