Easily accessible using trams straight from Centraal, and round the corner from large supermarket. Close to number of museums too. Room itself was small, with bunkbeds which is fine but the sheets were stained (although cleaned). The lift is strange, with no inside door or room to fit luggage in. The staff were pleasant and helpful, basic kitchen appliances and... More

I booked this hostel because it was the cheapest and closest to the center. I was a bit skeptical at first because the reviews weren’t that good, but it proved to be way better than my expectations. The reception was very friendly, the room was considerably clean (I guess it really depends on the people you stay with) and there... More

From the perspective of an interailer on a comparatively low budget, Inner did everything we needed it to do. With regard to location, the hostel is tucked away on a fairly quiet residential street but this shouldn't deceive you as to its prime placement. Just a 2 minute walk away is a tram stop which links you to the rest... More

The staff is rude (the asian guy every question I asked, he laughed) the girl from the staff is very kind. And well, this is not a hostel. At all. Is a HOTEL, but to make more money, instead of having one matrimonial bed per room, there are 6 (imagine, six time the money per room). The common room is... More

We were 6 friends in one room. Two out of the 6 mattresses had a hole in the middle of it, and the stuff from the hotel they did not change them after 2 times complaining about the situation. On the second night the same mattresses were in place. We went downstairs for the second time to complain about the... More

The receptionist who worked in the mornings (the asian girl) was literally the most unfriendly receptionist i've ever encountered. She was completely unwilling to help and didn't smile once. Hostel was good but lacked character and didn't have any air ventilation, very stuffy. Great location.

Great because the company that I had actually fitted the amount of beds except for me. What I mean is that, I was the only person who had to share a bed and I was fine with that because I had the clever idea to connect the beds together so that I was about to fit. Rather small rooms, but... More

The rooms are very basic and quite small but for the price and location it was fine. I would say that the hotel provides good value for money. There is a tram stop literally 2 minutes from the hotel door. Also not too far a walk from Dam Square and Leidesplein. The only problem I had with the hotel is... More

My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 nights here. We had a very warm welcome to the hotel and got a standard sized room with everything you need - including a fan!!! No problems at all here. Only thing is there's various marks on the walls and things which are quite off putting - not physically dirty just stains. Wouldn't... More

Staff were polite, hostel facilities were good and towels were provided. The location was excellent, right next to the museum square, supermarket and a short walk or tram ride into the centre of the city. No big lockers in our private room. The weather was very hot and the room got very stuffy. There was a small fan but no... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
