Pros: Free wifi. Near the restaurants. Tram is 2 streets away. Spacious rooms. Cons: Waking up each day to the noisy construction works being done to the building next to us. Very tiny toilets- you have to either change outside or risk bruising your elbows on the walls. Found a cockroach and a snail (yes! a snail on the third... More

Stayed here for 2 nights with four friends .Bad experience with staff who first of all said we only booked for four people instead of five which was a joke and we were offended the way he went on about it then started moaning about taking money if we were noisy ,we started getting doors chapped at 5pm saying we... Just returned back from a short break in Amsterdam. Incredible city with so much to see, this apartment itself is in a fantastic location with loads of potential. However we found ourselves to be sleeping on a building site, whilst the building is redeveloped to accommodate underground parking. This means work started early on the mornings and as being on... We booked Alexander's Apartments based on the reviews below. HOW WRONG THEY ALL WERE. Alexander obviously owns the building we stayed in. He has no issue banging on your door and barging in, telling you to be quiet. I felt like I was being told off by a teacher. There were 10 of us in 2 rooms. We had paid... More

I stayed at Alexander's last May 2014 for 4 nights. Great and clean apartment. Third floor has very thin wall and you might hear your neighbours 'activity'. Alexander and his stuff are very helpful and polite. Apartment is next to the tram stop. 15 mins from central station and 20 mins from RAI exhibition centre

Had a great stay here. Rooms are a great size (Was a goup of 6) and nice and clean. Staff were welcoming and friendly. After I had arrived home I realised I left a couple of valuable items in the room and had already received an email from the guys asking for an address to send them to, which was... More

Often you judge a place, based upon the cleanness, the size, the comfort, the location.... In Alexander's apartments in Amsterdam I had the privilege to witness the amazing service- not only during, but also AFTER my stay. For me, staying in the apartment was all I wanted: a GREAT location, clean, comfortable (we took a rather small apartment, to fit... More

Loved our stay at Alexander's apartments! We arrived before check in, but Alexander welcomed us so warmly, let us store our bags in reception and gave us some detailed information about Amsterdam. The apartment is around 6-7 tram stops from Centraal. Albert Cuyp Market is just around the corner, Museum square is around 10 mins walk. There are plenty of... More

I have just come back from staying in the apartments with 15 girls on a hen weekend and could not have asked for anywhere better (Age range 23-53) I even think this was more authentic than staying in a hotel as you got the feel of what it is like to live in a 'proper' house in Amsterdam. The value... More

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
