We stayed at this hotel from 27-29 December 2011, booked just a few days before we left. Hotel was easily accessable from central station by metro (just one stop away). Check in was very efficient and we were immediately upgraded as all standard rooms were booked up. We were upgraded to the top floor, an executive room. We had booked... More

I stayed at this hotel for three nights in January. The condition of the hotel is excellent. The rooms are relatively large and look out over the water and the city. Whilst the hotel isn't exactly at Dam Square it is a relatively short walk to Central Station (the hotel also run a complimentary bus to and from the station).... More

We stay at this hotel often on business and I like that the service is efficient and friendly without being too involved in your stuff (if you are on business it needs to be functional). The views are great from the upper floors and both sides of the hotel are nice, but I like the city facing view. Sometimes there... More

The hotel is quite modern and with very good service. Had a room with an excellent view of IJ Bay. The room is modern with a large bed and sofa. Internet is free (for 4 hour blocks) and decent bandwidth. Bathroom is modern and very continental. Includes a bathtub with half glass enclosure, which doesn't really contain the splash from... We were extremely pleased about the quality of the hotel, our 15th floor room was spacious, clean, tastefully decorated, had heaps of English TV channels, and the best thing was the vast view of the City. This being my 4th visit to Amsterdam I did find that compared to staying in cheap central hostels or hotels that the location was... More

Me and my partner (both 36 yrs) stayed here for 4 nights from boxing day. The hotel rooms are very spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Access to the hotel from the airport is very easy via train and tram (only one stop), and there is also a shuttle service from hotel every 30 mins to city centre (10... More

The hotel inside is nice and comfortable. It's nothing spectacular in terms of looks or luxury but its very good. The check in time was 15:00 but I arrived at 12:00 and checked into my room without any problems. Also at checkout my flight was late in the evening so I asked if I could stay till 14:00 instead of... More

Amsterdam is one of our favourite cities, it has something for everyone and such a romantic place. We visit Amsterdam often and always book via Priceline Name Your Own Price as we know the city well and nowhere would be a bad location for us. This is the first time we've 'won' the Movenpick, I was hoping for the Amrath... More

Just returned from a three nights stay at the Movenpick and cannot fault the hotel or service. We arrived a few hours earlier than the 3pm check in but this was no problem we checked in straight away. The front staff were very friendly. On check in we had been given an executive room on the top (20th) floor. We... More

I am just returning from a few days of vacation in Amsterdam. The Movenpick Amsterdam is a nice modern hotel, featuring all you can expect from an hotel in that category (nothing less, nothing more). This hotel should be recommanded to people who already know Amsterdam, and want to discover an alternative area of the city... but if you want... More

Staying in Eastern Docklands (Oostelijk Havengebied)

Neighborhood Profile
Eastern Docklands (Oostelijk Havengebied)
A visit to Amsterdam’s Eastern Docklands presents the opportunity to marvel at its many modern architectural masterpieces like the Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam and the beguiling Python Bridge while taking in its scenic waterfront with its trendy assortment of cafés, restaurants, bars, and clubs. Here in this post-industrial (though in some parts still very much presently industrial) neighborhood, you’ll find a smart selection of cool galleries and shops as well as the kid-friendly Science Center NEMO and the National Maritime Museum.
