One if the best BB in Amsterdam location is just in the centre of Amsterdam it is very clean and nice decorated. And Claudia is doing more than good to make your stay as nice as possible. All the places to visit in Amsterdam is close by. Nice to feel like home in Amsterdam and don't feel that you stay... More

Just spent 3 nights at The Flying Pancake, great location for walking to all the best places. We were well looked after by Marian, who brought us our breakfast each morning to our room. Would definitely recommend it.

Several years ago we were planning our first trip to Amsterdam and sought a place removed from the hurly-burly of the city center, one with space enough to keep us comfortable for a week's stay. We came across The Flying Pancake on the web, read the reviews, and decided to give it a try. The decision was a good one,... More

We enjoyed staying in The Flying Pancake a lot!!! Claudia was great!! Room is very well equipped, spacious and spotless clean, we felt like we were home away from home. Location couldn't be better, close to the center but on the quiet street. We didn't have to use public transport, all major attractions are within walking distance. Next time we... More

We had a wonderful 3 days at this fantastic B&B. The apartment was lovely warm and inviting. very easy to get to just a short tram ride from the central station. Claudia is exceptionally helpful and went out of her way to accommodate us. The breakfasts were great and the steam shower terrific! I would highly recommend the flying pancake!!

We had a wonderful stay at The Flying Pancake. It is an 18th Century Canal House convenient to the city in minutes. Claudia the innkeeper was very warm and accommodating to our every wish. We stayed in the Cook's Suite with the bed in the loft. It was lovely! The bathroom was spacious and we loved the Steam Room Shower... More

We loved the apartment. We stayed for 4 days and my girl just loved the steam shower which she used every night. Breakfast was excellent and freshly delivered on our doorstep every morning. Apartment is also very well situated in the city, we walked to every main attraction in about 20-30min. There is just one tiny remark: for elderly people... More

Had three nights at the Flying Pancake. Tram from Central Station then 2 min walk. Top floor appartment with a very comfy large bed in the apex. All mod cons and a steam room / shower which was welcomed after a days traipsing the cobbled streets. Funky breakfast included and hifi, tv, dvd etc for just chilling. Highly reccomend and... More

We have just returned from a stay at The Flying Pancake, we stayed in the Cook's Suite and loved the experience. It felt more like you were staying as personal guests of the proprietress, Claudia, than a B and B. Claudia was welcoming and answered any questions and tried to accommodate any needs we had. The location was very convenient... More

Have to say it was the quirky name that attracted us but our experience was brilliant. Good location - having seen the crowds surging around Nieuwemarket we were glad to be a comfortable walk away. Lovely hostess, polite and considerate (she nearly missed a Holland kick off securing our taxi!). The Captain's suite was really charming and a good combination... More

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
