Centrally located. Walking distance from Rijk and Van Gogh Museum and on tram route. Spacious rooms. Very clean. Great atmosphere with helpful host that will assist with booking tickets and entries to what you need.

Very central location, walking distance to museums and city centre. Tram stops in front of the door. Even from the airport, direct busline197 close to the hotel. Even tough we arrived late at night, we had a warm welcome from the host himself. The room was spacious and clean and very quiet. Comfy bed w all types off pillows w... More

In addition to echoing all of the great things said about Karel, just wanted to point out how great the rooms, beds, and bathrooms are. Our bed was giant and comfortable - the bathrooms are super clean and have instant hot water, great tiles and fixtures. Rooms are huge, ceilings are super tall. The upscale location is perfect - tram... More

If you like quirky, this is for you. The property lives up to its name, collections ranging from old leather and wood skates via clocks to shoes and Barbie Dolls. The "DIY" Breakfast had a real family feel in a cosy kitchen with good choice of food. Large airy room with comfortable bed and we were made to feel very... More

This review is a bit late. My husband and I actually stayed for 3 nights in October 2013. We had found this great place on trip advisor and were not disappointed. Karel@the_collector.nl made us very welcome and was delighted with the miniature miners clock we gave him to add to his collection. We made our own breakfast with fresh eggs from... More

Karel consistently went out of his way to assist me with my first visit to this fair city. I wanted to feel residential versus visitor and his quaint place provided all that plus modern conveniences. Being so close to easy transportation and quick walks to food and entertainment were a plus. I will return!

We've stayed 3 nights at this lovely B&B, which is the best accommodation from the Belgium & Holland trip! (it's much better than staying hotel)! The pictures they post is exactly the same we see in the B&B! We stayed at the clock room, which is spacious, with all the funitures you needed (tables, chairs, cabinet, TV) and with a... More

We stayed here for several days and really enjoyed it. The owner is fantastic and very accommodating and welcoming. Our room faced the back of the house and was very quiet, although sometimes the chickens in the garden rise early. The stocked kitchen to eat when you like is great and the food was all very fresh. The location is... More

A great place to stay, conveniently located, on walking distance of Rijks Museum, Stedelijk Museum, and Van Gogh Museum as well as the Concert Hall for those admiring culture and art; on walking distance of Vonderpark loved by Amsterdammers as well as by tourists; on walking distance of the famous canal belt; in short a PERFECT location; the tram at... Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
