This is an exceptional place to stay. The position is perfect, you are immersed in the charm of old Amsterdam, yet walking distance to everything The B&B is simply world class - in every aspect. The host is available, knowledgable and friendly. The breakfasts would out most 5 star hotel to shame.

Yes, in my opinion, this is probably the best B&B in Amsterdam. I have been to Amsterdam 5 times, stayed in that many B&Bs, and finally found the best. My criteria was: In/near the Jordan, breakfast included, small, on a canal, homey, personal, and walkable to almost everything. This place made our trip. Vlad was the consummate host, making sure... Ken and Vlad made you feel at home from the start. It is centrally located and we were able to walk all over Amsterdam from here. The B&B is clean, neat and tidy and lacks for nothing. The breakfasts were superb , and the beds were comfortable.I would rate this 10 stars if there was room.

Wonderful charming house. Got a big, lovely designed room with combination of old and new interior, and a large new bathroom. All very clean. Shared kitchen and living room beautiful made and clean. Well equipped. Nice hosts and breakfast was perfect. really value for money in a central area, but most of all very welcoming and luxury feeling.

Following previous visits to Maes and Heren B and B accommodation - our stay this time was at their property close by on Singel. As usual we were greeted by our lovely host Vlad who gave us a guided tour of our apartment on the first floor . This beautiful contemporary one bed apartment has all modern conveniences including a... More

We were lucky enough to stay at Heren B&B for 3 nights in early April. This was our very first B&B experience and one that has enticed us to try more of this type of accommodation. Vlad & his team were gracious and generous hosts who were helpful without intruding and full of ideas and recommendations for our stay. Our... More

Our stay at Heren was nothing short of perfect. Our room was an extraordinary value for the price we paid. It was far larger, well designed and sophisticated than we expected (we typically stay in modest but charming places). What's more is that the owners were lively and inviting. Our breakfast was more like a feast - lots of different... More

My best friend and I decided to visit Amsterdam for a girls weekend, and I had spent a good part of my morning searching for lodging. Somehow I stumbled upon Maes B&B and thought that it was unlikely there would be a vacancy so close to our arrival date, but I was pleasantly surprised with a prompt reply back from... More

I traveled with my mother and sister and I must say that the room was too small. We also found the doorless bathroom with see through glass rather uncomfortable. The maindoor to the room was also see through, very weird… PROS +Really good breakfast! +Excellent location +Friendly service, though sometimes it felt the staff tried a bit too hard to... More

Great location - walk-able from train station, restaurants, historic sites and a short tram ride to the art museums. The B&B was fully updated and the interior quite modern. Wonderful host and staff. Hearty breakfast. Our first choice for a place to stay for our next visit to Amsterdam.

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
