I feel a bit sorry for hotel staff that was very helpful and kind, but there are issues with this hotel need to be seriously taken into consideration before booking this hotel : Tiny rooms - the smallest we ever been and so is the bathroom (airplane feeling) . The matters is awful!! very soft like it saw better days...... More

Stayed just a few nights on the tail end of a Netherlands/Belgium/Netherlands itinerary. Good small hotel for a short stay if you aren't expecting to get the Four Seasons on a tight budget. Very close to Leidseplein and easy access to/from the airport via public bus if you don't want to cab it, and you don't want to take the... More

As a few reviews already mentioned it is in a nice location, close to the museums and transit. There are many restaurants in the neighbourhood but some did not look all that inviting. It definitely has seen better days. There was some stains on the sheets but they did looked cleaned. Stairs were crazy steep and narrow. Not for small... More

Lets start with the positives. Very clean bathroom with a good, powerful shower. That's pretty much about it. All downhill from here. Location is ok. Five minute walk from Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum and Leidseplein. The price makes this review average, any more and it would be poor. The price is economical but some standard aspects of cleanliness should still... More

We were pleasantly surprised by the small independently owned (we believe) hotel! Our room was clean, comfortable and it had a great little (Julliette) balcony with a side view of the canal. We loved the front desk's recommendation of "Ciro...Passami L'olio!" the Italian restaurant across the street, so much that we ate there twice! The air conditioner worked great and... More

Situated 5 minutes from several tram stops, convenient for getting around. Tram to Dam Square takes about 10 mins. Several of the popular museums are within walking distance. Good choice of bars not too far away and lots of Argentinian Steak Houses to choose from. Room clean, shower powerful enough and good variation at breakfast. Staff are really nice and... More

After reading reviews about the hotel I booked through Expedia for a 2 night stay. I decided to book a deluxe double after hearing that standard double rooms were slightly small. The room was very big and had a balcony and lovely ensuite with a large shower cubicle. Through the booking we had breakfast included, which was a great start... More

Very sleek, modern, and comfortable rooms. Yes, they are rather small, but you must consider that Europeans are generally smaller than our American behinds and are much more efficient as using up space. The air conditioning units at Hotel D'Amsterdam were a godsend during the summer months and all of the electronic devices worked quite well. The Wi-Fi was excellent... More
