I was so disappointed with this hotel. The room we were given was supposed to be a superior double. We were actually given a room which was small with two single bed mattresses which continually slipped off the edge during the night. Worst of all we had Room 1 which is an internal room with no window at all, or... More

Well the only 'pro' of this hotel was how comfy the beds were. Cons - Lack of lighting. About two of the bulbs had blown, and the ones that worked were very dim so could hardly see anything. Loud - We were in bedroom number 1. Right next to the reception, so we could hear every person coming in and... More

My adult daughter and I shared a small room with two beds in August. We found the hotel easily - a 10 minute walk from Centraal Station. The bathroom was attached. The bath and room were clean and tidy. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was one real problem - the hotel shut down the air conditioning at 11:00... More

The location was great, central but yet away from the tourist crowds. We took the train to and from the airport so we were pleasently surprised when we realised how close the hotel was to the central station. Not alot of good restaurants nearby, so if you like eating a good breakfast maybe you should figure out where you are... More

The hotel is about a 15 mins walk from Centraal Station and 5-10 mins from The Red Light District. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a family room with 4 single beds, although there were only 2 of us, RESULT! Room was clean and huge, bathroom was a lovely big size. Shower was a stupid design, there was a gap... More

This is a very nice located hotel and the rooms are ok in size, wouldn't recommend this place if you planned to stay for longer periods in your room, but perfect for those who are outside most of the day. The rooms are tidy and clean, and the bathroom has a really nice shower. The wifi is fast and doesn't... More

I booked 1 twin room for me and my daughter for 3 nights in June- as it was the cheapest hotel close to Amsterdam central station- (and breakfast was included.) so I didn't expect a lot. However the hotel was all it promised- close to the station,24 hour reception, the room was clean tho small with a perfectly adequate en... More

I have just returned from 5 days at the Mansion Hotel in Amsterdam. I went with some trepidation after reading the reviews the night before and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived to find the hotel clean and modern. The rooms are small, very small, but they are nice, Nespresso machine, kettle, hairdryer and good shower room. Space is definitely... More

Last year stayed at The Notting Hill, this year the Mansion at £300 cheaper, was alittle worried by the reviews, however nothing to worry about, as I use walking sticks they very kindly went out of their way and gave me a great room with lift access, the room was 202,I had as much space as at The N.H. I did not... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
