This hotel is perfect for young travelers who don't mind a bit of quirkyness/grunge. I stayed here with a friend when we went to Amsterdam, its location is great and it is situated around a lovely park and is convenient to get to the center easily. You can hire bikes from the hotel which is practical for a practical price.... More

A couple of friends and I stayed here for 3 nights and we were very happy with our rooms. Very clean and nicely decorated. All staff extremely polite and welcoming. 100 metre walk to the tram stop to the airport or the central. We will definitely book again! Thank you!

For a reasonably-priced city hotel, the Aalborg more than fit the bill. Room was small but clean, and the public areas are even smaller, but it suited our party of 4 as we were just looking for a place to rest the head. We enjoyed a beer in the comfortable little bar each night to review our day and plan... More

Really easy to get to the hotel which is only 1 tram away from centraal station! From the second we entered the hotel, we knew it was a great choice, as the people were really helpful and opened for our questions. (and not only because it's in their job description..) We got a huge spacious room with comfortable beds and... More

Hotel itself was nice, friendly staff but the room we stayed in was not good at all! It was very small and cramped which we could live with as we were only there for 2 nights. We went out for dinner the first evening and came back to ants crawling everywhere on the floor and by the TV. Unfortunately we... More

My boyfriend & I stayed here for a week and loved it. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only downside was that where our room was situated, it was a bit noisy. But this would not put me off and I would return to the hotel next time I visit Amsterdam. Our room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights with some friends. The hotel is nicely situated- not too far from the main tourist bustle, but far enough to be out of it. The 4 tram takes you all the way from Centraal to a block away from the hotel so it's location is perfect. Additionally, it faces a lovely and well... More

A good and cheap hotel if all you want is a comfortable bed to sleep in, a breakfest and public transportation that takes you to the city center. The small room is better than we expected, nothing fancy but clean. The only problem is that you can easily listen to the other rooms if the people are speaking too loud... More

This hotel is situated on the boarder of Amsterdam Centre, just a few minutes walk from the Albert Cuyp market (the largest daily market in Europe). The reach-ability with public transport is more than ok. There are several Tramstops within walking-range. The hotel staff is friendly and the public area's are decent and clean. They have a nice garden in... More

My husband and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel. It is very clean and staff are so helpful and friendly. The room wasn't huge but you don't come to Amsterdam to sit in your room! Lots of lovely restaurants nearby and the tram stop is just round the corner to go into Amsterdam square.... More

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
