We were given a warm & friendly greeting by the owners Rachel and Pepijn & shown to our room where we were given a glass of cold champagne each & some chocolates. A lovely welcome after travel delays ! The room is of ample size complete with a lovely big bed, wardrobes & drawers, a nespresso coffee machine, kettle, free working... More

A small and friendly b&b, well positioned, clean and tidy. We were given a warm welcome despite our late arrival, and were given a spacious well furnished room overlooking the canal - the design room on the first floor. Only downside is the shower room is tiny, but didn't affect our enjoyment of the room - bed was super comfortable... More

Thanks for the comfortable holiday in your hotel. Your service and espacially your breakfast was excellent. Please increase the space around the washing table actually it is to small. It might be more comfortable to seperate the shower by a glass door to keep the water inside.

Everything was perfect: we enjoyed the atmosphere at the hotel, Rachel & Pepijn, the owners, were so kind with us, room and location are great, breakfast ( which is not common from 9 to 12, a superb idea!)... It's the best choice in Amsterdam if you want a relaxing trip!

A lovely family run hotel. The room we had great character and a view of the canal. Great nights sleep and a tasty breakfast and a very much welcomed drink on arrival. Booking was easy and the directions they provided made it easy to find. Will stay there again.

Perfect location for exploring Amsterdam by foot or bicycle. Walking distance to central train station (airport connection). Many restaurants are basically next door. The friendly and helpful owners made me feel at home, carried my heavy bags upstairs when I arrived and downstairs when I left (steep stairs in a traditional Krachten House). The full breakfast is freshly prepared. The... More

It is a cozy and familiar hotel. Ideal for couples. Is very near of de Dam square and the shopping área. It would be choseen for all people who likes tranquility and not a big hotel. Breakfast is very good but is not as broad as in a large hotel. Mybe a little pricey

A lovely place to stay , no problem with noise (I was in top/3rd floor front room) and the owners were very helpful. Great location to be able to walk to all areas of Amsterdam. A great way to experience living in a canal side house. .

Our room was spacious and charming, with a great view of the canal. It may be noisy in warm weather, but we closed the windows and had no problem sleeping- and I'm a light sleeper. Earplugs were provided but we didn't need them. Rachel and Pepijn were very warm and helpful. Breakfast was abundant and delicious and snacks and welcome... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
