If you are going to Amsterdam and looking for a B & B look no further. Best Breakfast I've ever had at any B & B. Just don't eat too much for dinner the night before. Peter is awesome, makes you feel like part of his family--really. Rooms very clean great location next time I go to AMS this is... More

Make no mistakes, this B&B is as good as everyone says it is! Peter Boogaard runs an amazing B&B where your every need is catered to and then some- he really can't do enough for his guests. We enjoyed six great nights in the Pug room and the only thing that got us out of that gorgeously comfortable bed in... More

If you are going to Amsterdam, you NEED to stay at Boogard's B&B! The rooms are gorgeous, the beds (and all the pillows) are the most comfortable we've slept in while traveling, the amenities are plentiful - everything from a stocked kitchen (eggs, bacon, 3 kinds of bread, milk, juice, beer, panekoeken, a FULL jar of cookies, cakes, ceral, you... We stayed at Peter's for 2 nights during a weekend trip to Amsterdam. Peter was an excellent host and the rooms were very comfortable. However, it was the breakfasts which I have to particularly remark on. I warn all potential guests that the breakfasts are delicious and served in huge quantities so take care! My husband swears that the bread... More

I have never had such an experience. The place was clean, hospitable, the rooms were cosy, the food was amazing. Peter's breakfasts really did it for me. I filled up on the delicious pancakes and I was set for the whole day until a late lunch or dinner. Amsterdam's food is not that incredible, but Peter's breakfasts were.

Our stay at Boogaard's B&B exceeded all our expectations! The rooms are beautiful and cosy and the bathroom stocked with everything we needed. But these were far outweighed by the very generous and hospitible host Peter, who cooked a different and absolutely amazing breakfast every day for us! We really enjoyed getting to know him during our stay and wouldn't... More

Whenever I pictured a bed and breakfast in my mind, I saw a quaint room with a soft comfy bed. The breakfast would be fabulous and of course, homemade. At Boogaard's Bed and Breakfast, it was more than I even imagined. Peter put a lot of thought into this one. Everything was perfect. We got to see the inside of... More

Staying at Boogards B & B was an added attraction to our 5 day stay in Amsterdam. The room was fantastically furnished, with no luxury spared, and the decor was tasteful yet noticable. Everywhere was immaculatly clean, and the maid service kept our room in tip top condition . The food provided by our warm and generous host , Peter,... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
