Located in the areas which is not as noisy as in the City Centre, but it's pretty close to the shops, just 10-15 minutes walks and you can find the shops and markets. Also very near with a Tram Stop. The hotel receptions were also friendly, we asked them a favor if we could leave our luggage in the hotel... More

Excellent for proximity to three museums -- turn left on leaving hotel for Rijksmuseum -- 3 min walk -- hotel was comfortable -- free ice machine on our floor was working --room & bathroom of reasonable size -- no drawers available for unpacking -- most clothes remained in the suitcase -- room on 5th. floor & had a good canal... Amsterdam is one of my favourite cities but it is hard to find a comfortable hotel at a good price. NH Museum Quarter is such a place. It is wonderfully located just a 5 minute walk from the Rijks Museum and by a quiet canal. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and bright. We were on the 6th floor so... More

Had a twin room (me and my mother) for a cultural weekend to celebrate her birthday. Emailed the hotel the night before to ask for a room with a nice view which we got, a 5th floor overlooking canal. Room was clean and spacious and beds were comfortable. It was quite warm in the room so we opened the window... More

We had these large slanted glass windows that were the height of the wall - lovely light. The staff were fantastic, especially after the our car was broken into (don't leave anything valuable in your vehicle - some people even leave their boot open to show there is nothing there!) The staff helped us with the police, the rental car... More

We stayed here in early May mainly for the Riks and Van Gogh museums. The hotel name says it all, it is Ideally located for the three main museums- a 10 minute stroll to the Riks museum so you can get there before the large queues start building from about 9.15 (likewise get to the Van Gogh by 9.50). The... More

It's clean, well located but nothing exceptional. Rooms could do with a little modern refresh changing the televisions and carpet. But sitting in the rooms could not tell the difference these rooms and a best western. Service was good.

If your trip plans are the Oud Pijp, thevAlbert Cuyp market and the major Museum area, then this could be a good option. While not spectacular, it was well run by polite and helpful staff, had a very nice breakfast room, and was within a comfortable walk of the Van Gogh Musum, the Stedelijk, the Concertgebouw, and the Rijksmuseum (not... My partner and I stayed here for four nights in March. We wanted to be near leidseplein but not so close that we would be disturbed by noise so this hotel was ideal. It was about 10 minute walk and there is tram stop 2 minutes away if you don't want to walk to other parts of the city. The... More

Hotel: NH Museum Quarter. The service at the hotel is far from the 4* Expedian said it would be. The Toaster in the breakfast area does not work properly, and when I complained a staff member said they knew but that the hotel had no money to re-new it because the hotel is Spanish owned and due to the recession... Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
