This hotel was in a plesant area with lots of restaurants and bars near by, it was only 5- 10min on the tram into the center of town, but this area i found much nicer as it was not as busy or expensive. We gave the breakfast a miss thanks to the other reviews as 60 E for two was... More

This hotel would have received very good or excellent marks if it had not been for: 1) The very poor functioning air conditioning system. The air quality inside the hotel both in the room and in the public areas was poor, this even when outside temperatures were in around 20degC so no need for heating or cooling, just ventilation. Hotel located in a very good location, close to the major city attractions. Well connected both by foot as well as by public transportation. Nice and clean rooms. Just a bit overpriced compared to hotels near by.

The hotel is very well located, close to the open market and the museums. Very friendly and efficient service, large and clean rooms, good breakfast. Free WiFi in the lobby. Direct tram to the Central Station and Dam Square from a nearby stop.

the hotel has a excellent feel and the rooms are good and average size. it is centrally located and 10 mins to damm square by tram. the hotel even has cycles for rent but they are a bit highly priced as compared to the other rental agencies. it takes around 30 to 40 euros from the airport to this hotel... I have always liked this hotel; good location in Amsterdam, modern rooms and good service. It is worth paying the supplement for an executive rooms - they are considerably larger than the standard rooms.

I agree with the reviews that the NH Museum Quarter is in a lovely place and is moderately priced. It is very close to the Museum Quarter, to the Heineken Experience, the Albert Cuyp Market, and the Leidesplein. I got a third floor standard room facing the canal. The room was very large, but seemed very dated. One thing that... More

We booked early after checking tripadvisor ratings and prices, there are some great deals to be had but they're prepaid so can't be canceled. I'd recommendgoing for the superior rooms for the greater size and better views. Anyway, upon arriving the reception staff were very friendly and helpful and had allocated us a corner room on the canal side. This... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
