Just returned from 3 nights at the B&B Marnix. Location is in Jordaan but not right in the heart of things - however, as mentioned below, it is very close to a range of attractions in the city as well as being convenient for buses to/from the Centraal Station on arrival by train and trams which will take you to... My wife and I stayed at the B&B marnix for 2 nights. The room was very nice - pretty large, cosy, quite, very clean and with nice view of the canal. The location is also great - short walk from the center. Richard, the owner, was extremely nice and helpful. Great value for the money - highly recommended.

The neighborhood where this B&B is located is not far from the Anne Frank house. We arrived late into Amsterdam and instead of trying to navigate the public transportation we took a cab. The cab got us right to the front door and we were greeted by Richard despite being so late. Since we didn't have long in the city... More

I stayed at the Marnix B&B for 2 nights at the start of April with my partner. We have previously stayed at another B&B in Jordaan and find the area to be an ideal base. It has plenty going on without big crowds, but is still within walking distance of the centre of the city. The Marnix overlooks a canal... More

In July 2013 we made two separate one-night reservations at this B&B for both ends of a week long boat and bike trip planned for in May 2014. They happily took our reservations and confirmed them with an email. Three months later they wrote to tell us that they did not enter one of the dates in their system and... More

Zana and Richar... v, Owner at B&B Marnix, responded to this review

This email reservation crossed an online booking. We noticed that unfortunately later when we checked our calendar. We did not closed the day on time. Also we did not communicated correctly to the quest when we searched for a alternative B&B. We have learned from this for future reservations.via email. Our website hosting is currently busy for future direct booking... More

Arrived late on Monday night after a flight and was very happy to walk into such a welcoming place. Richard is so friendly and could not do enough to help us with our stay. The room was spotless, modern and spacious, had a very powerful hairdryer (something I don't always come across!), good tea and coffee making facilities and we... More

My wife and I stayed with Zana and Richard at B&B Marnix in mid September before a Viking River Cruise to Budapest. We flew in from Africa then train to Central Station and taxi to 76 Marnixkade. Richard carried our luggage to the second floor room overlooking Singal Canal. The room was perfect. The outlook brilliant and Marnixkade easy to... More

My sister and I stayed in the canal view room for two nights and it was everything we needed. Richard was welcoming and helpful. We weren't leaving till late on the Monday night and he let us keep our things in the room so we could freshen up before flying. Our toilet was across from our room but this did... More

It was a good room, good beds, clean and a good location what do you want more. Refrigerator in the hal so can put you own stuff in. We visit the De la mar theater and it was only a little walk for 15 minutes.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
