In April, my friend and I booked a room here for the end of June after reading many positive reviews on this site. We received the emailed confirmation and the 15% deposit was immediately taken from my account so we thought everything was all set. Then 10 days before our trip (over two months after our reservation had been confirmed... More

Not a professional address. No desk, no staff. Internet was dropping 50% of the time. No towels, very small rooms and beds. Rooms are very noisy due to the city night life and traffic. Very high and dangerous stairway.

Visited December 1st - December 3rd - Contacted the right person beforehand, checked the location beforehand. So I had no real dramas with meeting the person and finding the place. It's located very centrally so didn't have to walk very far to the main attractions. It's not a hotel, it's a flat on the very top floor of a building... More

Stayed here on my second trip to Amsterdam & it made the entire holiday so much better! The owner is a lovely man who was extremely helpful when we arrived late for check-in & couldn't find the accommodation (due to our own poor ordination skills), he even left the key with a cafe so that we could use the room.... I booked a triple room to stay with 2 friends for a long weekend. I had contacted the owner when I booked the room through hostelworld to let him know our arrival time so he could meet us to hand over keys etc (as I was requested to do so on the booking form). The owner, Sergio, replied 3 days... More

just spent a long weekend here with a few mates and have to say it was better than I had expected. I was staying on the 4th floor so had to climb 4 flights of very small and steep stairs as there is no lift which probably was the only bad thing about the place. the corridors could do with... More

Finding the apartment was very difficult to say the least - the directions pretty much left me at a tram stop. Here I had to ask a number of locals for advice as there are no signs to indicate where the hostel is. The only indication of where I was staying was a tiny name-tag on a shabby door in... More

We enjoyed two very comfortable nights here. A couple of days before our arrival we were contacted to arrange to be met at the apartment with keys etc. The beds were very comfortable and we had plenty of space as we planned to be out and about most of the time. There is a kitchen to make coffee etc &... More

WARNING: rooms are on the fourth floor! so four flights of stairs! Sergio was nice enough to carry up one suitcase but honestly if you plan to get high or hate stairs... maybe this isn't the best place to stay. There are about three rooms all of which are simple but clean and modern, which is nice. The bed was... More

Considering the very central location and the place itself, i would rate this place "very good". It's also very clean, and the bathroom is just perfect (you don't even notice that you have to share with others). If you have a chance go upstairs on the terrace, lovely view!

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
