Just back from a short stay at the Vossius Vondelpark for a stag party. The hotel is nicely located within a short walk of the Leidesplein in one direction and the Rijksmuseum & Van Gogh museum in the other. Rooms are very small but comfortable, kept well clean and with nothing lacking. It's not a hotel to lounge about in... More

This was a 1 night stay. We had the most friendly welcome and were given tips on places to visit. The room was clean, compact but had all we needed. Anyway, we were in Amsterdam to explore the city and not to spend time in our room. The location is IDEAL to visit Amsterdam by foot. Major museums in the... More

We reached the hotel easily within twenty minutes if not less, from the airport. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a balcony overlooking the park and its beautiful lush trees. The only thing that would be slightly a problem would be that the bathroom was very small, but doable. This is probably because the building isn't very large... More

Great location for Van Gogh, Rijks museum. Tram/bus stops are close by. Friendly\helpful staff..The only down side to this Hotel is the bathroom size in our room was very small as a few other travellers have mentioned. Other than that nice clean hotel daily room service with fresh towels.

Positives: The staff at the hotel were lovely, they couldn't do enough to help you. The hotel was spotless probably the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The location is ideal, a 5 minute walk away from the Museum Quarter and a 25 minute walk from Dam Square (or 5 minutes on a tram which I would recommend.) Negatives:... More

This hotel is great if you're a seasoned European traveler who is used to small rooms and crammed beds, but my grandma was not accustomed to these things and when she woke up and found a mouse in her vest she lost it. We moved to the much more expensive Marriott down the street. At least you can say the... More

This is more of a hostel than a hotel. While it enjoys a prime position on the edge of central Amsterdam close to the museums and Hard Rock Cafe, with excellent transport links it can hardly be described as a hotel in the usual sense. It has been formed from two tall thin town houses, knocked together. There is no... More

The size of our room was an absolute joke! It was tiny! Our quadruple room was at best a tiny double with 4 beds crammed in. All four of us had to walk side ways to get around or jump onto the beds to get to the other side of the room. There was only one wardrobe & no chest... More

We had a great stay at the Hotel Vossius Vondelpark. It's park adjacent and walking distance to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. It is also located near just about any public transportation line you may need. Or if you're a good walker, you can probably just walk most places you'll want to go. I also really loved the tremendous... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
