Staff were very friendly but unable to resolve any problems if owner not present. Rooms very small, no real storage space. No air con so bitten by mosquitoes..bring some repellent. Bedding and shower clean but curtains, window and floor not clean. A bit of a squeeze at breakfast time but food basic and substantial. Overall, it was ok for us... More

Booked through LateRooms who would not take rsponsibility for thier mis-selling. Airconditioning did not work and we were told it was on request only. LateRooms website clearly stated airconditioning but website was amended after we complained. Room was scruffy and tired as well. Kitchen in Reception/Dining room for breakfast was pretty off-putting. Described as great for backpackers but at UK£153/night... More

As soon as we walked in we cried! We booked it the night before and paid 171 for 2 nights so wasn't expecting anything great! We wasn't looking for anything amazing just wanted somewhere which was clean and where we felt safe. When we arrived we met a lovely lady on reception and she said there was no more twin... More

Staff at hotel could not have been more helpful and polite, and made our stay very enjoyable. Room was very clean, but relatively small, but as we were only in room to sleep was adequate for our needs. Since we were only there for weekend we are already thinking about a return trip, and if the hotel was available would... More

Me and a friend decided to book a last minute trip to Amsterdam and found this hotel was the closest to the center but also was relatively cheap. The room is very basic and not very big, we had 2 single beds and a small wardrobe, but for us that was all we needed as we weren't planning on staying... More

The staff and especially the owner and his daughter/manager are very shady, and are stealing your money. In addition to reserving (from your credit card) almost the whole total price of the stay in front, they won't cancel the reservation while you are there, they charge you when you're signing in too - the full amount. So, you'll basically have... More

I didn't think the review of the hotel was the same as I had chosen. We are both in our 70's and the stairs to go to the reception were a 45 degree angle. I don't like ladders at the best of times so was no use to my husband lugging the luggage up. We were to go onto the... More

This hotel has a great location.... And thats about it! The rooms are basic although the fridge and tv didnt work. The matresses are like lilo's and you basically fall out of bed if you turn over. The bathroom is probably the most awkward bathroom ive been in. If you wipe your rear end with your right hand then im... More

By staying a couple of nights in this hotel we got a pretty got imagine of the qualitu. Even thought the service and cleanineless is great, still I have the feeling that 600€ for 3 nights is a bit to much for such a small room. The beds take more space then the space you have left for your bags.... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
