Budget hotel, pretty basic but comfortable enough as a base...clean sheets and towels, friendly staff, reasonably central location, dreadful breakfast, especially if u are a vegetarian, with no cereal or toast, just bread...extra pillows would be helpful as only two very flat ones were on the bed and an extra blanket or bedspread would have been nice too, having said... I stayed one weekend in this hotel and I do not recommend to anyone. It is a walking distance from Amsterdam Central station, but I saw many other hotels around the area that look much better. The room is very small and does not have window. The wireless internet does not work in the room, just in the lobby. Poor... More

found the hotel easily from centraal station. we had a pleasant welcome to the hotel. throughout our stay we received a good breakfast and good all round service from the hotel staff. the hotel room was basic, but more than adequate for our three night stay. we quickly got our bearings from the hotel and found the location very conveinient.

Stayed in a single room in the basement with no windows, nothing wrong with that at all. Newly re-furbed, clean with en-suite and very quiet. Staff were cool and considering its location good value for money.

I stayed here with my brother for a week over new years. First off the so called room was more like a sub basement, or storage room converted into a room. I was at least expecting a standard hotel room, very disappointing. Believe it or not it could have been worse as we noticed they had basement rooms with no... More

This hotel is in the perfect location - close to Central Station and Dam Square. The hotel is clean but basic. The staircase up to the rooms is very steep and there's no lift so not suitable for people with limited mobility. We paid about £250 for 3 nights, which was cheap compared to many other hotels. We arrived a... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
