Nice hotel, 5 min walk to centre but not noisy, easy to get to from train station, breakfast ok, standard bread/cheese/random meat, Clean room, beds comfortable- not the cheapest option but probably worth the extra.

We travelled as a group of 7 friends. Age gap 19-22. Hotel looks lovely. Great location and walking distance from the central station. Staff always ready to help any hour. We rented our bikes also from the hotel. Non smoking rooms, but very clean rooms so overall we had good room service. I would not recommend it for old people... More

Stayed for 3 nights. Pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Looks nice and room was clean. We had a standard double room A3 (i think ) which was small but we were aware of this when we booked. The bed was the comfiest ive every slept on and ive stayed all over the world. The bathroom size was tiny and the... More

We were family of 5. Stayed on the second floor in a room number 28. The room is big and the view is on a Rembrandtplein. We had 5 single beds. There are a lot of steep stairs in this hotel but i think it is very common for this city hotels. the whole area was overcrowded but at nights... More

It's been a long time since I've payed so much to stay in such a poor hotel. Put in a basement, not clean and with bugs. Floor not clean!! Sheets not clean. Not natural light... Bathroom shower broken and double bed is two seperate beds.. I can never recommend this hotel and these rates!

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. It is very conveniently located close to the train station. It is just a 5min walk to Amsterdam Centraal. Breakfast was served from 7:30 which was a bit late for me but it was very good. The hotel room was OK not extremely clean but also not overly dirty. One thing which... More

Hotel was clean, pleasant and quite. Breakfast was light but good as it's included in your stay. Location was great as was very accessible to Dam square. WIFI was hit and miss depending on where your room is located for a strong signal. We will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future.

I needed 3 nights in mid price hotel near to a conference venue for a business trip. The City Hotel is a tourist class hotel with basic services including a continental breakfast and free wifi. For a few days this was sufficient and I was satisfied. The hotel is near to many bars, restaurants and the central railway so is... More

Please note: some of the reviews for this hotel are for a different hotel, down in the southern area of the city, called the City Hotel. I stayed at the City Hotel Amsterdam, on Prins Hendrikkade 130, near the railway station. This is a budget hotel, very close to the central railway station, and is adequate for short stays. The... Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
