Ok, the rooms are small but that's not exceptionel in Amsterdam. The interior of the rooms do meet four star standards. We did not have breakfast but there are many breakfast options nearby. The staff is very correct and polite.

I booked this hotel for a family visit and was so disgusted with the service and the state of this place. The one bed was broken, the 3rd bed was made up of a chair and camper bed, the plugs were broken, behind the bedside table there were big clumps of wire stuck to the wall with clue like material... If you need a cheap basic hotel that's ok then this could be it. It had a great location for where I needed to be. There is no restaurant but you can order into the hotel from local restaurants and there's a few restaurants a short walk away. I really missed having a kettle in the room to make myself... More

Stayed there last weekend for Sat and Sunday night. We were on ground floor and relatives were on second. The room and bed was very clean the shower cubicle floor is getting old but was clean. Yes we did suffer from people smoking and talking outside the front door and if staying longer would have asked to move. On ground... More

Some of the rooms are in the basement or the "lobby". The sanitary are rather of a Soviet Union era than of a 4 stars hotel. The receptionist was more of a backdoorman, bored and took incredible time to deliver the keys of the room. Overall nothing of a 4 star facility and I could not find anything pleasant in... More

I usually am pleasantly surprised by Expedia's Mystery Hotel choice--not this time. The room was really, really tiny, even by European standards, claustrophobic, really. The window opened onto a large shared deck with astroturf that made me feel unsafe traveling as a solo female. The bedside light didn't work. The front desk staff were unfriendly and mistakenly tried to charge... More

Stayed 2 nights and I liked this part of town. There was nothing in the room to tell you about the hotel and some information in the lobby was out of date. My room was very clean, although the linen and towels were frayed and there was mold around the bath tub. They don't have 'do not disturb' signs in... More

This hotel was beyond gross! NEVER stay there! Dirty rooms. Mold all over the ceiling of the bathroom and around shower. Dirty cups and hair all over the room. "free" Wifi NEVER worked. Luckily, I only had booked it for one night, otherwise would have switched hotels.

Savoy Hotel I arrived in Amsterdam on my own for a week's visit during the month of August 2015. Generally the hotel served my purposes and so I put up with its deficiencies. The staff was generally polite and helpful. However, I wouldn't classify this hotel as four star. My reasons are as follows: 1. On arrival the clerks didn’t... More

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
