Just returned from a 5 day break and can recommend this B&B to everyone. It really is like a home from home. David is very friendly and helpful and all the little extra touches he made throughout our stay made a birthday break really special. (we didn't meet Chris as he was away at the time) We stayed in the... More

Literally could not have chosen a better place to stay. A few weeks before arriving, I emailed David to ask about nice restaurants for Valentine's dinner. He couldn't have been more helpful; he sent me and my boyfriend a list of 8-10 different restaurants, including the distance from the B&B and what sort of prices to expect so that we... More

I stayed at the Tulip of Amsterdam for the first time two weeks ago and stayed in the Large Dutch (Blue) Room. The stay was a mixture of business and personal. On the business side the location could not have been better. Right in the centre of Amsterdam next to Nieumarkt and easy travelling from the Metro (30 seconds walk)... More

What a great location, you can walk or drive a bike, if you dare anywhere. Chris and David were top notch hosts. They made suggestion for restaurants and they were all very good. You will not be dissappointed staying here, breakfast was great, especially the coffee, fresh fruit, fresh bread, eggs, cereal, juice, ingredients to make omlets. These guys were... More

The location is superb, right in the middle of everything. We booked a large double room and when we saw it we were delighted, the design and look of the room was amazing with a tulip theme and every item and colour with a personal touch. The couple who run the B&B were extremely helpful and made us feel very... More

Have just returned after a four night stay and had to write and say what a great place this is. Location brilliant, room was bright and breezy with lots of nice touches to make you feel at home. Coffee machine, bottle of red wine, fresh bottled water. Chris couldn't do enough to help and was on hand to make our... More

I love to travel and a friend and I stayed at the Tulip in late November. I picked the Tulip because of the reviews on Trip Advisor. We loved it. Chris and David are delightful hosts and tended to whatever we needed. I think there is a fine line between supporting your guests and imposing on a guest’s privacy. David... More

Abosolutely perfect location, styled with love and attention for detail! A relaxing and warm place to stay. Lovely rooms in a typical Dutch building. Nice breakfast. Clean and comfortable. Very easy access from the central train station, just a short walk, right in the city center with all amenities available.

I have stayed in B&B's all over the world and the Tulip of Amsterdam is one of the best. The location is right in the heart of the city, within easy walking distance to almost all the major sights. It is right off of the Niewmarkt which makes finding it very easy. The neighborhood is filled with restaurants, bars, and... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
