As we continue our travels and our journey, we can't help thinking that our second visit to Amsterdam was still too short. This time, after reviewing various places on Trip Advisor and researching our options we decided to stay at #LeQuartierSonang a B&B run by Frank and Oki on Helmersstraat. Even though you read many reviews to get an appreciation... More

If you prefer the anonymity of a grand hotel with a large pool, business center and 24 hours room service please don't bother these two gentlemen. But if you care for little details as they do (like fresh flowers with breakfast every morning), thoughtful furnishings, a lovely neighbourhood and personal recommendations for activities and restaurants don't look out for any... My husband had booked this absolutely charming B & B for my birthday week-end. In fact I would call it a Boutique Luxury B & B. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with a warm and friendly Frank with a glass of wine. He gave us a map and some fantastic recommendations for places to eat and drink... More

It is true to say that, with the Trip Advisor gradings, expectations must be very high, but it is also the case that what is on offer is very very good. Oki and Frank have obviously worked very hard to refurbish the rooms to a very high standard. Breakfast is excellent (and I'm still trying to work out how Oki... More

After reading the reviews here we had very high expectations. We are pleased to report that these were easily surpassed. Frank and Oki were excellent hosts from the moment we arrived. Breakfast in our room was a real treat, with different fresh fruit every day and fresh bread and croissants too. Our breakfast table had a different flower on it... More

Wonderful hosts -- made us feel like we were home! Frank and Oki took great care of us and made us so feel welcome. We got to experience life in their wonderful quiet neighborhood as a local would - they pointed us to their favorite restaurants and cafes, all within a few blocks. We tried 3 of them -- they... This was a fantastic location, in a quiet neighborhood, and close to the locations we really wanted to see. Oki and Frank were great hosts, and provided tips on restaurants, shopping and tours. We walked about a mile and toured the Ann Frank house in the late evening and the lines were minimal. The Van Gogh museum and Rijkmusesum were... More

This was our first visit to Le Quartier Sonang and, like other tripadvisor reviewers, we feel very fortunate to have stayed here. The location was perfect - quiet, but also in very easy reach on foot or by tram of all the places we wanted to get to (lots, to make full use of our Holland Passes!). Our room, facing... More

The praise others have heaped on Frank and Oki, and their outstanding B&B, is fully deserved in every respect. Even more so is the care, understanding, and flexibility they demonstrate when things do not quite go to the traveller's plan. My arrival in Amsterdam was very nearly not to be, courtesy of extreme winds in the UK, but Frank and... More
