We have a beautiful room - Schubert - with a fantastic view on the canal. Everything about the place is homy, confortable and charming. The room is well equipped and very confortable. The staff is nice and helpful. The breakfast was good but a bit confusing and slow. It is a place where you want to stay for a while,... More

Upon an early arrival we were warmly welcomed and offered breakfast which was quite good.Giyon and Thomas were both exceptionally friendly and helpful. The Picasso suite was spacious and light filled with a canal view and nicely decorated.Prinsengracht is busy and a bit noisy I will caution you.Overall very good / excellent.

Often I find Tripadvisor accurate.Sometimes it isn't.This is one of them. This is an overpriced B and B.In its favour it is well located and staff are friendly.Against that you could consider the following: 1.Turn down service happened on one out of three nights. On one of the nights the employee thought turndown service consisted of drawing curtains and putting water... We are very sorry to read your review on Tripadvisor. This is not the Seven One Seven experience we usually offer our guests, the experience that many of them appreciate highly. To compensate your unfortunate experience we would be happy to offer you a weekend stay at Hotel Seven One Seven free of charge, to let you experience the proper... More

I was made to feel so welcome, I cannot fault anything. It is unusual not corporate which is so refreshing. So many interesting features made this small but beautifully formed hotel perfect for me. Perfect getaway.

Our short visit to Amsterdam was made most memorable by staying at Hotel Seven One Seven. The location, on one of the recommended three best canals, was perfect - a garage across the canal easily took care of the parking problem. The house is rich in history, and works very well in its present role. You are in the heart... More

Nice location and high standard throughout. We were in the "room at the top" which was a lovely junior suite, but up 60 seep steps! You need to be aware of this before you book. SOme rooms are, of course, lower down. Great quality breakfast. They don't do evening meals but lots of good restaurants within 5 mins.We liked "The Pantry"... More

This is a beautiful old building on one of the nicest canals - steps up to the shiny black front door - and a genuine welcome from Jack surpassed many we have received the world over! We stayed in the 'Franz Liszt' suite on the ground floor and were completely 'at home'. Our bedroom at the back was rather dark... More

We spent 6 days at Seven One Seven hotel and found it so friendly, quiet and a wonderful hideaway on a stunning canal. The interiors are full of interesting antiques and very comfortable rooms - ours was the Picasso room which overlooks the canal. Breakfasts were in an amazing room overlooking the courtyard garden and were delicious. The staff were... More

The 717 is an excellent hotel for those who need a comfortable and tasteful place in the center of Amsterdam. Located a few meters away from the main tram lines, which can bring you either to the train station or to the Rijks Museum in no time, the 717 is a very quiet place with large and comfortable rooms. It... More

Stayed in the Schubert Suite personally and conducted small business meeting with lunch in the Library. Perfect venue, location and service for this type of get together. Would do it again anytime! Steve from USA

Staying in Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)

Neighborhood Profile
Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.
