I found the beds to be really comfortable and it had all the amenities you really needed. It was annoying to put a down payment on a key to the safe, but whatever. The very large smooshed bug on the wall was a nice touch too. It made the small room look even smaller but whatever. I mean, if you're... more

Booked this for a final night in Holland after a week at Eurocamp. Got a reasonable rate online. After a miscalculation had to book a second night but they wouldn't give the internet rate for that night. The hotel is in an older building more or less opposite the station. The layout is a bit higgledy piggledy and the rooms... more

I definitely recommend the Multatuli to anyone visiting Amsterdam. Located across the road from central station and 200yrds to the right it is quiet yet 5 minutes walk brings you into the heart of Amsterdam. Staff speak perfect English and even when we arrived at 10am (way too early to check in) it was no trouble to keep our suitcase... more

The hotel is in a great location. The hotel was a block from Central Station. An easy walk for everyone. The rooms were clean except the beds did not have a top sheet. We requested top sheets, but they never came. Everything else was good. more

It is conveniently located within walking distance of Centraal Station. You can get around either walking of by tram to all the major attraction in Central Amsterdam. The rooms were small though, but the beds were comfortable. Good choice if you are not planning to spend a lot of time in the room, and why wuold you want to do... more

I am a passionate and frequent Holland visitor. I travel to A'dam 3/4 times a year, and I have experienced the most incredible experiences in hotels over there... (many of you can understand for sure!) I generally look for hotels with a good location and reasonable price, as I will be roaming around the city and no using the room... more

First of all amsterdam is very expensive, for example a standard pint of beer is 5 euros (not so bad back in the day, but now when the pound is roughly equal the euro, this is very expensive!). So for the cost of 160 euros each for 4 nights (mid week) was good. The hotel is located within 5 mins... more

I stayed here for one night as I was in transit to London, and wanted a room near Centraal Station. It's a 3 minute walk. Seems like a good 2 star hotel. Don't know why it gets a 3 star rating. Single room was tiny, even for Amsterdam standards Price seemed a little high. $198. Asked for a front room... more

We were pleasantly surprised by the Multatuli Hotel in Amsterdam. We had booked it on account of it's central location and the Multatuli was the cheapest hotel in the area that didn't have completely shocking reviews. There were 3 of us travelling and we were put in the quad room which we felt was spacious enough for our requirements. The... more

Absolutely lousy hotel...the room was small and dingy and the A/C was giving off such a bad smell that I had to turn it off!! The bed was horrible and it gave a backache after a couple of nights! Bathroom was smelling too, especially the WC. Light was blown in the entrance and did not get repaired throughout our 4-night... more
