Location is perfect, staff were very helpful and the rooms were very clean. A short distance from the railway station and city centre sights. It is a small hotel but was an excellent stay and will revisit. Can also leave baggage on day of arrival and departure.

We really enjoyed this hotel. It was so close to everything you would need. You were always in walking distance of good food, pubs, and nightlife. You were also a short walk away from all the madness. The breakfast was overpriced for what you got, so I would recommend going to a coffee shop for breakfast. The rooms were small,... More

Hi all. If you wish to visit Amsterdam and the red light district but are worried about booking a decent hotel then take my advise. The Hotel Luxer is an awesome place to stay. You can catch a train from the Airport, get off at Central Station and literally a 5 minute walk and you are at the hotel. You... More

We chose this hotel after reading reviews about its location and service. The room was clean and safe. We recommend you take a high floor to enjoy the quietness. The staff was very nice and informative too. We will come back to this hotel for 2nd visit of Amsterdam.

This is a very good quality hotel in a fabulous location, close to the train station and the cultural centre of the red light district. It wasn't too noisy in the evenings but close to a great range of sights and facilities. We stayed for 3 nights mid-week, but i can imagine it being a bit noisier at the weekend... More

Great hotel in the centre of everything, which initially I was worried about because of the noise and how busy it would be. What surprised me was that you could nothing at all, fantastic nights sleep! Clean rooms, beds and towels changed everyday. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay again next time I come back :)

Very quiet for the zone it is in. It is in the middle of the action for the red light district. I stayed for business and it was really cool to walk around in the evenings in midst of the craziness and then to go to bed and get a very restful sleep without having to pay cabs etc. it... More

In the city centre and close to a vast amount of restaurants and shops. Stones throw from the Amsterdam Central station. Reasonable sized quiet twin clean room with crisp sheets. Had a problem with the in room safe quich was quickly sorted. .love the color scheme of the rooms etc. would definitely stay here again if ever back in Amsterdam.

Again great location! Next door to Hotel CC, all the cafes and Red Light close! As with most hotels they say not to smoke but towel under door and sock on fire detector and I'm puffing away til check out! Defo worth checking out! Although they did try to not refund me on an item I paid for 10 minutes... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
