My husband and I stayed here for one night at short notice. Men and women are on separate floors which works well if you're travelling alone (we knew this beforehand so no complaints just an FYI to others). The hostel offers £6 dinners - on the night we were there it was pretty chaotic and slow and there was much... More

My friend and I stayed in a 6 person female dorm for 2 nights. The room was clean and comfortable enough with pretty large lockers (bring your own lock). The bathrooms were also clean but very crowded! I estimated there to be around 50 girls on a floor sharing 3 toilets and 4 shower stalls. Towels were also not provided... More

Out of all the places i could have stayed in Amsterdam i am very thankful i stayed at the shelter. It was cheaper than the rest, in a great location and breakfast was included. The bathrooms were wide open, so taking a shower in the morning left really no privacy. The bed was fine and a locker was provided. Good... More

Terrible hostel. Worst I've ever stayed 1) reception opens the luggage room for anyone n everyone without checking tags 2) checking in/out is very slow. This lady called Esther even said to her fellow recep to just ignore the q n take her own time 3 room is like a jail - dark, windows that can't be open, no heater/... More

Over priced. No plug sockets in rooms which are very dark, lighting is not great. It feels like the staff are judging you, they are unbelievably fake, although Leah on breakfast was really nice. They charge 1.20 for hot water!!! Breakfast is small, they charge you for a re-fill of your coffee, they offer 1 type of cereal- muesli. If... More

The hostel is good, always clean and the staff is really available. Breaksfeat is good with two choices each day. The location is good and fairly close to the center. You also can rent a bike there, and It's recommended. It's a cristian hostel, but no one is obliged to participate.

We wanted a quiet place so we were happy with Shelter Jordan. It's close to the tram and you can also rent bikes to get around. The staff was friendly. The kitchen had more food options than any hostel I've ever stayed at and at reasonable prices. Wifi was good. Beds were comfortable. If you're looking for a party hostel,... More

If you go to amsterdam and want a little more than alcohol and drugs, this hostel is a good option. is a christian hostel, but that values the organization, calm nonjudgmental. But you must be willing to follow the rules. And they still separate rooms womens quarters of men.

I began the search of finding a hostel in Amsterdam which allows you to stay only one night, this one was the best one I cane across in my price range and I am very glad I did. From check-in to check-out, the experience was great. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and helpful in finding everything you need,from... More
