Stayed here for our first few nights whilst backpacking and it exceeded my expectations of a hostel. Room was clean (stayed in a 6 bed shared room) with a locker big enough to put my backpack in, the staff were friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was yummy! Good location right next to a metro stop but far enough... More

Here for 2 days, we shared the room with other 10 people (only men, because femine were downstairs). Clean and very cheap, we found the good solution not so far from the center of the city. Very exiting to share the room and the space in the kitchen were we talk a lot with other. No noise or strange smells.... More

My daughters and I stayed for 2 nights. The bike rental was wonderful and super convenient. Seemed like all the travelers were respectful of everyone's privacy and kept the noise at a minimum. It is not a party atmosphere, but more of a great place to meet fellow travelers, share stories and ideas. We walked from Amsterdam Central, about 30... More

We had room of 8 bedder female with shared toilet. Pretty squeezy room with no lockers for the bags. Toilets and facilities are clean. Staff are really friendly and informative. Lounge/pantry became our chillout place because the room was too small to sit in. Great location though - near to tram stop and attractions.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel, it is in a really good position with plenty of restaurants around, (it's also really close to Anne Franks House). The common room/dining room was really homely and welcoming. The staff were really friendly and helpful espeically when it came to recommending where to go during the day. Loved my stay in... More

This is a fantastic hostel if you want to stay in a nice area of Amsterdam! The city is small enough, though, so you can easily get to other areas. We rented bikes from a place on the main road 2 mins away for a really cheap price! The free breakfast was good, and they had lots of cheap options... More

If you're in Amsterdam for fun, party or just to have a pleasant experience, don't stay in this hostel. I was in Europe for 6 weeks with 3 friends and it was unanimously our worst hostel. It was really expensive for a shared room with 16 people with dirty washrooms and really not a smart staff who don't really care... More

I went there with my mum for Christmas and it was very good! The staff is friendly and welcoming, the beds are clean and confortable, the main room for dinner, breakfast and chill out is very nice and you can eat whenever you want so it was very handy. The staff helped us to rent bikes and book cruises! Very... More

This hostel is quintessentially what a hostel should be friendly welcoming and homely. I would definitely return to this place in a heartbeat. The main area is great and makes a good area chatting and the food prices for the cafe are very reasonable.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
