Friendly staff, excellent location, good price. The bathrooms are not very clean, but for the price you pay for it I would say that it is acceptable. I stayed 3 times in this hostel in different occasions, and I would definitively sleep there again.

I found the hostel to be clean and tidy. They didn't charge for extra's like sheets or breakfast. There is plenty of information and discounts made available and the staff were really good for transport knowledge and recommendations for food and activities. Walkable to the city centre.

Good place, all attractions are nearby. Staff is good and food is OK. They have clean rooms and bed. Reception was really helpful and hostel is secured. Tram station is next to hostel. The place is comparatively cheaper than other hostels. Value for money

Shelter Jordan is a very welcoming and clean hostel. The staff are always smiling and happy to help but as it is a Christian hostel don't ask about the red light district and being under the influence of drugs or alcohol is forbidden at the hostel which might not be good for some people visiting Amsterdam but also makes it... Nice hostel. Clean area on either bedrooms zone and café. The café is a nice place to stay on lazy time. The breakfast is for free and It is good as several hostels around Europe do not offer it as included on booking fee. The bad points is the location not too much near from the great places of the... The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The floors are separated by gender and the rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The dinning area / cafe are also very comfy and offer a good selection of food and drinks. You can also sign up to have dinner with the staff each night. The location is also great, right by... A very friendly and welcoming hostel in a pretty central area! It's around a 12-15 min walk from the central square. The only negative was the sound quality. There are metal lockers in the dorm rooms, waking up everyone when someone wants their bag out of the metal/loud lockers. Breakfast is filling and tasty!

Staff here are very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, and the common lounge area was always nice and clean. Beds in dorms were OK, bathrooms always clean. Good location for walking around and exploring the area, especially the Anne Frank museum.

I was here for 2 days. This was a nice little Christian Hostel. You don't have to be a Christian to stay there of course. They also have bible study and invite you to join them for church, which I think is pretty awesome, but they certainly don't pressure you to join. The rooms are a bit small, but it... More

Stayed here for our first few nights whilst backpacking and it exceeded my expectations of a hostel. Room was clean (stayed in a 6 bed shared room) with a locker big enough to put my backpack in, the staff were friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was yummy! Good location right next to a metro stop but far enough... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
