This apartment had a reasonable price for a family of four (parents + two college-age kids) and we were drawn in by the reviews and comment "experience the real Amsterdam". To be honest, I would not do it again. The apartment itself is OK, but it's hard to get up to - extremely steep stairs... three floors, mostly without handrail.... More

Dear Mr. / Mrs, Thank you for sharing your experience about Hotel Amstelzicht on Tripadvisor. The apartments are ideal for families with kids but also perfectly suitable for 4 adults since the bunk beds have the exact same size as the other beds. Yes the staircases are narrow and steep, because our hotel is established in a historical building. This... More

The Hotel: Cute, charming - very typical 'Amsterdam' in an old building with lots of steep, narrow staircases to climb (a bit scary at first!!). I had a suite in the basement, which was really well furnished, stylish and comfy. However it did smell a tiny bit of damp, and the bathroom was very industrial looking, compared to the cosy... Perfect location, exactly in the heart of the city, near to most of the sights, lovely canal view, clean room, lovely service. Steap stairs, but manageable to make it. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Hotel Amstelzicht is one of the so-called, "three dancing houses". A famous landmark.

Traditional house with lots of stairs that are narrow and steep but manageable. Great location with good views of the Amstel. Some noise from street outside but surprisingly quiet when windows are closed. Lovely, spacious and clean room, small bathroom. Complementary toiletries were located in the wardrobe? Kettle and coffee machine provided with 2 free drinks per day of stay.... More

We had an apartment room in the building right next to the hotel and loved it. It's an Amsterdam building so the floors aren't exactly straight or level and the staircase is really steep and narrow but we loved the style. This is Amsterdam! The apartment was nice and clean, the small kitchen had everything we needed, the front living... More

Dear Mr. / Mrs, Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review about our hotel. The hotel is established in a historical building from the year 1659, and yes, with these buildings come the steep staircases! Nice to read that you liked the apartment and it had everything that you wished for. Due to the fact... More

This hotel is small offers a fantastic, central location. Walk everywhere! The rooms are ample, beds are comfortable and no restaurant here but that is not an issue as right outside your door you have many restaurants to choose from. The price is right, it is clean and the staff is always willing to help. It's not a holiday inn... More

We are a gay couple who stayed here for 4 days in late June 2015. The hotel staff were outstanding as was the view from our room of the canal. The room was basic and not fancy but clean and very quiet with windows that could open and plenty big especially for Europe. The location was great - right around... More

Visited this hotel at the end of May 2015. The hotel was marvellous. From the outside it does not look very inviting, but please do not let this put you off !! Good location, and nice interior for the apartment. Near to all attractions. Hotel has out-source parking services. So be mentally prepare that your car will be driven to an unknown location, and will be returned at a specific timing that you wanted.

Funny to stay at a hotel in a traditional old classic Amsterdam canal building. Positive: Location and big spacious (50 sq. m) basement room! Location is superb - central Amsterdam. Negative: Basement room was smelly/damp, no option to open a window!
